While you're at it, why are there very few children? Ever wondered what a turian baby looks like?

Ever wandered what a salarian child looks like?

I guess they just don't exist. Perhaps turians are mono-raced males who don't have children. Personally I'm somewhat dismissive of such claims.

Smaller versions turians and salarians.

Yeah, don't anyone DARE start that horsecrap argument about women having less testosterone balls muscle mass blah blah effing blah. That's got absolutely nothing to do with anything you sexist dimwits with your stupid Civil War era mentalities.

Seriously why the hell is Bioware so goddamn male chauvanist? Why do they put more effort into males than females? Seriously, they cut shmexylicious female dwarves out of DA2 entirely, and broke their word completely about female qunari. And we have yet to see a single female alien in the goddamn ME universe.

Asari don't count because they're a mono gender race. Neither do Quarians because they're always in those stupid space suits and we don't even know what either sex looks like.

Why do female turians, salarians, drell, yahg, vorcha, krogan, batarians, volus, elcor and hanar seem to be non existent? Through dialogue we know that these races DO have females. So why the hell do we never see any?

And the hand-wavey excuse "oh they don't usually leave their home planets" is absolute crock, these are ALEINS we're talking about, they're goddamn cultural attitudes and mentalities are supposed to be ALIEN, meaning absolutely nothing like ours, being the pathetic sexualist piece of crap ugly ass apes we are. And in a species that's become an thoroughly modern interstellar civilization, the idea of not ONE single female EVER going out and travelling the galaxy and talking to people of other species is absurd. A very very flimsy excuse. And you're stupid.

I think you should just enjoy the damn game. -_-
People like you always tend to sit there and attack, attack, and attack companies for stupid pointless little things.
I mean, are you HONESTLY that offended by the lack of females in the game? You are no better than those african american people who sat there and tried to get Resident Evil 5 banned or stopped production when they showed the game takes place in Africa.

The game mentions and has female characters in the game is that not enough for you? To sit there and be so pissed and bothered that they're aren't many female aliens in the game is childish. Did you even consider how extremely hard it is to even come up with a design for an alien race? Let alone try and modify it so the females are completely seperate from the male models. You have cost, you have over thinking, you have failed concept, you have flawed concept, you have people like you that would sit here and rage about the appearence probably, the list goes on.

Can you just not enjoy the game simply because the game is fun?

How? They sat there and ****ed at a game that got very high ratings, meaning many people really enjoyed the game regardless of race.  Then there sat an African American group that played the game were insulted and sat and 'demanded' they change the game just because they were offended.

How is this not comparable?

I like that comment. You get the funny award

CONGRATULATIONS .

Anyway I think it's just because it costs too much money and time to put new models in.

well, the humn race is a (mostly) gender driven culture. seeing as women havent had many rights until only this century, males are seen as the main 'charecters' in most entertainment.

so this isnt such a problem as why bioware isnt implementing more female based roles... its just that our socety mostly caters to the need of the male populace.

also, i want to see more of how each alien species actually works in ME3, or in a future Mass Effect game :D

Because beyond superficiality, the reasoning behind RE5's b*tch parade was more complex than "I'm butthurt I'm killing black people." Personally, as an African (well...half Naija, anyway, Chinese and Portuguese for the rest), I disagreed with most of that reasoning (and thought the game was crap for reasons unrelated), but some of it was valid. It had less to do with RE5 and more to do with trends of race and media portrayal, which should not and cannot be so easily dismissed, and about which one could write an entire thesis (hell, I know someone who did).

Even OP has a point, though s/he's not expressing it very well. And BioWare is the last company that I'd accuse of chauvinism.

Limited time and resources.

In game explanations are ways to make lore excuses for the aforementioned limited time and resources.

Also, get off your high horse. You can start a topic without being so bloody hostile.

I wish the femin*zi movement on BSN would end. I am so sick of women whining for more exposure in a series that has helped pioneer strong female protagonists, homosexuality in games, among other things. Pull your panties out of a wad and quit b*tching.

Honestly, I see it as the makers of the series just being cheap and cutting corners. I don't think it's some grand sexist conspiracy. If they can get away with making a few less character models, they will. We frequently get posts from devs and mods saying things like "If we had female Turians, we'd have to get rid of something - like voice acting and gameplay! You don't want that, do you!?" as if Bioware and EA are some small unheard-of studio.

If they're cutting corners though, that'd be the corner I'd cut. I mean, how do you even tell the difference in genders between two dinosaurs in space armor? And if they pulled the whole "just put breasts on the females", I'm sure that would upset people, who would cry "Why are all female aliens just the males with breasts? Space dinosaur people aren't supposed to have breasts!" I imagine the Krogan female in 3 is just going to be a covered up male model, with a female voice.

What's really weird is why there were no female dwarves in DA2.

I'm calling BS on that one.

What about RE4 that was set in Europe? That had you slaughtering Europeans left, right and centre. But because RE5 was set in Africa, all of a sudden there are complaints about "trends of race and media portrayal", while ignoring the fact that in previous games you were mainly killing whites?

Ohh... this again... Even if they put them in you will cry like babies again just because the female variant are not what you expected them to be. Nothing else to add here.

Yeah, the OP most likely isn't whining, but simply trolling. The OP has a long history of this. So, the only people actually whining in this thread...

Demanding to see other gender of aliens is in no way feminist. As someone said already, Bioware is rather focused on saving money wherever possible. It would add to male gamers as much as to female gamers if the species were of more than one gender. It is just that Bioware is, as someone said, cutting corners. If it is necessary or not I can't say, but it is certainly a shame that they do it.

Female baterians. Wow. That's pretty cool. Love it!

Imperium Alpha says "Ohh... this again... Even if they put them in you will cry like babies
again just because the female variant are not what you expected them to
be. Nothing else to add here.
"

Well the art work is so amazing here. The female variant is so much better than what I'm expected that I'm crying like a baby! That's good tears by the way. :crying:

Perhaps there already are female variants of each race presented and we humans are so racist that we can't tell the males from the females. Perhaps Garrus Vakarian is actually a woman, and is tired of constantly reminding Shepard that she's female. Just kidding.

Elcor are awesome!

What are the features that separate male and female Elcor?
