I'll say - I loved her first time through and still do.Captain Crash wrote...
Femshep was more then just a refreshing change in comparison. I wont go into detail, I will be here all day. But her playthrough in ME1 is probably the best gaming experience I have had,or ever will have.
All well and good but I only bought the game on a recommendation - left to myself I wouldn't have bought it. Why? Because it appeared to be a 'boys only' war game. I was utterly delighted to discover femshep and I wonder how many other games I have missed because they're marketed solely at (insecure?) male gamers.Rojahar wrote...
As far as why marketing is always
male Shepard, even though a lot of both male and female gamers like
playing a female protagonist... The problem seems like the fact there
are a lot of ignorant people who "cant take a female protagonist
seriously" and would not buy a game just because there's a female on the
cover who isn't a sex object. Marketing is pandering to the lowest
common denominator. Sexist gamers will buy the game because there is a
male soldier on the cover, and wont buy the game if there's a female who
isn't just a sex object. Whereas FemShep players will still buy the
game even if ManShep is on the cover.
