So hopefully I'm not in the minority when I say the disk swapping was annoying in ME, especially at the end.  How will it work for ME3? Hopefully not another 1-2-1-2 again :pinched:

Edit:

Just wanted to add the twitter posts from Manveer Heir. Should have done this earlier:

Nope. I hope Disk Swapping happens in ME3. Because if they did 1 disk the entire game, it wouldnt be as good in Playability and Graphics and the works. BF3 did a good thing because they improved everything and this game has Frostbite 2 as well.

How often do you have to switch disks? I don't remember it being that often or that annoying.

Disc 1 for the start all the way until the end of Horizon. Disc 2 until launch of the Suicide Mission. Disc 1 for the Suicide Mission itself.

The actual disc swapping was fine; it was the way it forced linearity onto us that was the problem. I wanted to recruit Tali and Thane earlier, but the two-disc thing made them structure the game so that I had to wait.

...How annoying could it possibly be to get off the couch every 10-15 hours?

I don't mind swapping disks but the way they did it in ME2 was a bit annoying because, if i remember correctly, you had to swap disks right before the romance scenes so if you wanted to see what the other romance scenes look like you would have to keep swapping disks and that got a bit annoying.

Or you could just, you know, watch them on YouTube.

Disk swapping only happened at specific moments. It's not that bad, its a big after all. Curious did Skyrim of have disk swapping.

Skyrim is only 3,5GB big and fits on 1 disk.

Yet Skyrim has an gigantic open-world, an insane amount of NPCs, an insane amount of quests and 100+ hours of gameplay.

So yeah, go figure....

Skyrim doesn't have very many if any rendered cutscenes.

So what is that bigger or smaller than ME2?

I'm pretty sure disc swapping is the closest thing to exercise that some of the people complaining about it get.

With an insane amount of recycled assets. You thought ME's "prefab shack/corridors" were bad. Pay more attention to Skyrim next time you play it.

It's the reused textures. A lot of Skyrim looks like a lot of Skyrim. That and the fact that nearly everything is rendered in game.

Mass Effect 2 is 15GB IIRC before DLC.

Like I said its really nothing to complain about. MS chose not to go with a different DVD format or with Blu Ray. (for obvious reasons) I do think it will come with two disk or more.

If it makes the game run smoother and gives me more graphical detail I wouldn't give a damn if it was even 3-4 discs; just give me a clean polished game.
