This will be good or a big let down. I hope this does not involve the spiret realm to much or this will be a big flop for me. And they need to get a cast just as good as the first.

I think it will be very good. I didn't really watch the original series, but this one has caught my attention.

I like Korra a lot, she's the perfect example of the kind of female characters I like to see.

I thought this thread was about lame CGI movies.

Now I know it's about lame anime movies.

Wow, gotta say: Korra's looking pretty awesome. I can definitely see some preliminary connections to Aang, while still managing to be a very different style character.

I'm LOVING that Chinese/Roaring 20s vibe in the music.

Korra's character is looking great.

And come on, did no one at least reacted with a little scream of joy in seeing Katara?

I can't wait.

Korra looks like a great character. But for me it's going to come down to whether or not I like the whole modern, big city thing. Also if Korra is flying solo or has constant companions. The interaction between Team Avatar was one of things that made the original great.

The creators said the inspiration of the new series is "steampunk in Shanghai, China, of the 1930s."

One thing that caught my attention was when the creators talked about the soundtracks in the new series, saying the music would be like "Jazz if it came out of Shanghai in 1930s, with Chinese influence." Thought that was interesting.

Sigh a modern 30's version of avatar the last airbender, only its now about some woman, interesting. it should have been based in a 21st century theme, oh well.
I am not looking forward to much to this i am just interested thats all!

Avatar IS NOT ANIME! Its american animation made to look like anime!

And your post is obviously about a lame BSN user who has no f***ing idea what he's talking about.

A:TLA isn't even 1% Japanese. It's not a movie either.

Did they say what the plot is going to be? I'm curious as to what her challenge is going to be. I have two issues, one is that it looks like she knows all of the elements from the beginning and thats a shame since some of the best parts of Aang's story was learning each element. I also saw from the titles they took away the airbender's ba gua zhang and that's a shame since I liked that they incorporated actual martial arts to the Earth and Fire benders mostly.

I am curious as to how all of these airbenders are springing up if this isn't even 100 years after Aang's time.

A bunch of them are directly related to him. He had three children, of which the youngest is Tenzin, Korra's airbending teacher, who in turn has 3 children (soon to be 4, I believe). Also, the propagation of bending abilities is not 100% genetic (the creators said something like 50% genes and 50% spirit), so it's very possible Aang found people with the spiritual aptitude to learn airbending and took them as his students.

Korra has already mastered water, earth, and fire by the time this show begins. She has trouble with air, and apparently Aang and Katara's son is her master.

The main challenge is apparently social upheaval, which is what interests me most about this show. There is an organization of chi blockers that are prejudiced against benders that are likely the chief antagonists, but in my opinion that cabal is merely a physical representation of said social instability. Some folks are not keen on benders after the chaos caused by the Fire Nation's decades long warring.

Legend of Korra has the potential to become a more thought provoking story than The Last Airbender was. Hopefully it lives up to the premise. It would also be nice if it were extended beyond one season, but only if there are more stories to tell with Korra. Otherwise they should stick to that plan.

Oh, with the kind of fanbase A:TLA has, it will.

It seems like her journey will be learning the spiritual side of things and humility.  She definitely appears to be your typical hot-headed, brute force type character.

Possible. Originally it was only meant to be a twelve episode mini-series before they extended it to 26.

I hope not. The creators of this series are aiming for a more tight-knit story, which is a decision I agree with. I mean, if it's extended too much, they might resort to episodes that have little to nothing to do witht he plot(filler), and given how bad the filler was in the original series, I hope DiMartino doesn't change his decision.

One thing I don't like about the previews is the dialogue. It just seems bland and the humor is a bit outdated. But I guess it wouldn't be Avatar without slapstick humor.

i wonder what happened to Toph. seeing metalbending like that and all. think each element has a specialized field? like how firebending leads to lightningbending or whatever and how earthbending leads to metalbending. waterbending leads to bloodmagicbending so what does airbending lead to?

Seeing as the Air Nomads are more in tuned with the spiritual aspect of life, I say spirit bending
