Also the announcers seen is just funny. I do not know why I just laughed.
The Lin Tenzen connection I have suspected that for a while now and getting top see Lin get in some action was great. The chase scene from the second episode (I think it was that one) and the first fight Korra has with the Chi blockers still stand out for me. One reason and her name is Naga.
I want a polar bear dog. Maybe because Naga reminds me a lot of my yellow lab.

He's Aang's kid. He's going to avoid conflict at all costs. Until someone goes after his wife or his Bison. Then he'll get pissed and that'll be something worth watching.

Always knew Spongebob was behind all the evil in this world.
So far I rather enjoy the show, I myself do not trust Pony tails man as it seems we are calling him now. He was just too eager at letting Lin take responsibility. Now mind you I don't think he's Ammon at all. But I do expect he'll be in some twist of fate a bigger threat, maybe will lead some sort of counter bender movement using Ammon and the equalists as a scapegoat.
But I do wonder just who Ammon is and if hes related to the old guy we seen i nthe flash back getting beat down. I dont think he's him, but rather someone much younger, though I bet his story has truth to it in as Obi Wan would say "A point of View" It is clear from the Gear that he has some major industrial backing. And it makes me wonder ifHiroshi and Asami, are true in what they show, or rather just spies and supporters of the Equalists, using Mako to keep an eye on Korra.
I just find the fact so far he's the only person shown with wealth and industrial power, and the fact they went from "lol sorry I almost ran you over, lets go to dinner stranger, then I give your unknown minor team lots of money" deal going on just too good to be true. I could be wrong, but she seems to let him do the talking, while seeing her running around and such shes clearly not a submissive person. Honestly I think she's a mole. But ehh maybe I'm wrong and the cynic in me is running free.

Also that Spongebob pic had me laughing, think I remember seeing a similar one with Katara holding Aang after getting shot by lightning and that exact same transition image pops up. Talk about inappropriate.

That falls under the so bad it's good category. I groaned hard reading it.

Not really, no. He strikes me as the passive resistance type. Beyond that, I'm not expecting much of a fight scene from at any point because he's an airbender. I know air can be used to create storm winds and hurl objects, but on the whole it isn't as destructive as fire or potentially brutal as water and earth. If you look at most of Aang's "fights" before he picked up other elements, he spent more time dodging and disorienting than kicking ass. Tenzin is definitely Aang's son in terms of mindset, so even if he does fight I'm not expecting a beat down from him.

Yep. It goes back to Pony Tails Man's look out for number one mentality as seen before. I winced when Lin went along with it knowing how wrong it would go. Now Pony Tails Man can wash his hands of the whole mess by claiming Lin falsely assured the council the pro bending champaionship would be secure.

I like this theory. When the_one suggested the whole Asami/Mako situation is a honeypot, I agreed; but I didn't have any reason to suspect she was in league with the Equalists until reading your posts. I figured she was helping someone run a lesser scheme. I thought maybe she might be involved the Wolfbat's obvious cheating going unnoticed or the like. This makes a lot more sense, though. It makes me wonder why Asami and her dad would dislike benders enough to help the Equalists; but I imagine that will come to light eventually if it's important.

I mean notice that the Annoucer always when the team was out would call them the Rookies, or you know in general he didn't seem to have a high opinion of them. I mean the team had tallented but no cash, no really long winning streak. Seems to always have the third spot in flux.
Then the Avatar joins the team, Kora helps push them ahead, draws attention to them etc. Its clrear from the start pro bending is corrupt. Look at how the owner shakes them down which led to Bolin getting in a car with a gangster.
Then all of a sudden out of the blue Asumi pops up nearly runs him down. says sorry and such. Basically takes control of the situation. And given he's a rather unknown player, shes litterally gaga over him, buys him a suit, and then does a full 180 acting like a nice girl hearing all of his stories. She pretty much from that point on leads on then when she hears his money trouble, all of a sudden Dad comes up with "lol wear this logo!". For a small advertisement gig he threw away alot of money on a team that never won. Or even came near the finals.
As to why if my angle is right he said, it was because of someone else his dreams came true. And if that someone else is Ammon like I think, who knows what he owes him. And they may have no hate for benders. While Hiroshi is a rich and powerful man he is still only a non bender. With power in the grips of the Benders this may ruffle him. Or it may have to do with his wifes death Asumi wasn't forth coming on that really.
Then when you look at the path. Its clear the Ferrats would go all the way more so with the Avatar, UNTILL the championship at least. With such blantant and open cheating and the mute re-action of the crowd says to me "not the first time" surely they would have seen that was a bad investment, as the champions cheating was a given.
Also Ammons speach was too long and aimed at corruption and cheating to have been spur of the momment. As if the whole deal was planned. More so that a Equalist Chi Blocker was waiting right there at the very momment they fell in in full battlegear. He was waiting. And not as it was change, but on that one side. What if Korra, Bolin, and Mako had won? Egg would have been on that guys face having to run all the way around for the other two.
It just seems it was planned for them to get to the championship. Then go down hard.
Course it all might just be luck and good nature aid. Its just given her actions, the timing, and the equipment used by the Equalist forces, each in and of its self, well thats one thing. But when combined...
Ehh maybe its my paranoia getting the best of me. But it just seems like the old saying "If its too good to be true..." Plus just the way she carries herself, to me at least, its just classic useage of women in Intel gathering role. He's just an upstart bender with nothing of value.
Minus direct contact with the avatar and weakness for a pretty girl. Like I said could be wrong, but I wonder about the mother, and where the money for Mr Hiroshi came from.

Korra is fast surpassing The Last Airbender as the superior series now. I was slightly worried about the focus on pro-bending tournament being more or less filler stuff but I was wrong.
Amon and the Equalists are a great opponents. Hopefully, they won't go dumbing down them to just steampunk ****s further into the season.
And for goodness sake, please don't let Asami just be there for a plot device... Hopefully they will develop her character to be more than just Korra's rival etc etc.
Oh and has anyone seen the episode 7 preview? I didn't see it after the end of the episode...

ponytails man definitely has ulterior motives. Ammon might be the antagonist of right now, but I doubt he'll run through the entire series. Something bigger than him is being set up in the background. Maybe its the gangs mentioned at the first episode.
I agree Tarlokk is up to something, but I doubt he's on Amon's side. He kind of reminds me of Long Feng; some political assh*le who just wants power and control of the city for himself.

Also, I think Amon will have a connection with the dude in the flashbacks, maybe that's the guy who burned his face and that will be how Korra makes the point that not all benders are evil? Aang and, many other benders worked to bring that guy down (I'm guessing). I get the feeling that Amon isn't fully evil, more likely a guy tired of being pushed around. What would be awesome would be for Amon and Korra to have to work together to bring down a bigger threat. But, who knows, maybe Amon truly is pure evil, maybe he is the guy from the flashbacks, found out by watching Aang how to take someone's bending, and has the view that if "I can't bend, no one can" he seems to be a good schemer.
