just thought I'd note, that when someone told Korra she look beautiful I thought to myslef, "she looks more like death than any other cartoon character I've seen, including actually dead people and Death himself"

I felt the same. She just looked so broken.

"Do you feel in chaaarge?"
A bender against a villain with more conventional means could be interesting - sort of like Asami's Dad.And the villains are starting to be really boring. I don't get why they need to go with benders all the time, they should make Varrick pull a full on Lex Luthor and get to scheming already. But he's too likeable for that I guess.
"Korra, you look like crap" probably wouldn't have been opportune.just thought I'd note, that when someone told Korra she look beautiful I thought to myslef, "she looks more like death than any other cartoon character I've seen, including actually dead people and Death himself"
In an exclusive interview with IGN, Activision's Robert Conkey has revealed that the game is set to be released on October 21 on PlayStation Network and PC, and October 22 on the Xbox Marketplace.
Just caught up and...
Oh noes my poor Korra.
**** you Zaheer, you stupid majestic beast of an airbender. Aang would still wreck him though. Plus Jinora is a spitting image of Aang too.
Hell, Tenzin almost wrecked him ![]()
I may start watching LoK season 1 soon (gathered materials finally). So tell me how annoying Korra has become that you all want to get rid of her?!

Honestly, Korra never really got on my nerves, except for the first half of Book Two or so. And that eventually gets put in context as well.

Maybe the almighty Amon feels that way, but the audience is generally cool with her. Legend of Korra would probably fit you well, considering it has a fair focus on martial arts. You'll probably dislike Bolin, but he's not exactly the star of the show.I may start watching LoK season 1 soon (gathered materials finally). Well, she thinks she's the hot stuff and never listens to the grown ups' advice, goes into trouble guns blazing, never thinking it through. Oh boy does she get a reality check in S3 for that, hehe.

Long time Avatar: The Last Airbender fan, which I truly love, but have never bothered with Legend of Korra before. But now with summer here I have spare time on my hands, been thinking of giving it a go. Will be interesting to see how it compares to the previous series.
Finally got the time to watch the very first episode of LOK and my general first impression of it is disappointment.
From the creators who made ATLA, which is an excellent show and one of my overall favorites, I can't help but feel disappointed over how average LOK is. Most of the characters are average, the antagonist--while interesting at first--falls flat and ends up being mediocre as well (same would be said about the story), the love triangle is horrible and the setting, which I found interesting at first with it actually having a significant change from ATLA in its time period, ultimately didn't add up to much anything and didn't feel as original as it's predecessor.
I did enjoy the season for its animation, strong action sequences, soundtrack, Korra and Lin (only characters I liked and were any good) but that is were my enjoyment ends. The humor was so and so. Sometimes I did chuckle and sometimes I was just annoyed. While Legend of Korra brought up some very intersting themes and social issues, its ultimate execution of them were "okay-ish". I might be too harsh on the show, since I finished re-watching ATLA not that long ago and was awed by its share brilliance as a cartoon, and then going to LOK expecting the same experience. Don't get me wrong, LOK is not a bad show in any way, but neither is it that great of a one, especially compared to ATLA.
I was hoping possibly Season 2 would pick up the pace and make the show better, but from what I've read Season 2 is considered worse than Season 1, so I don't think I really feel the intention of continuing.

It's really obvious that they don't know what to do with the show, Season 1 barely gets any mention in the future, the Season 2 change had underwhelming impacts in Season 3, considering the possibilities.
Atleast Season 2 introduced some good characters and ended in a way you could have guessed what could be in the next season. But season 3 leaves you with a feeling of "wait, that's it?". I honestly don't know what to expect from this show anymore.
Well, keep going on I say, but I don't think anything will make you feel less disappointed. I'm particulary not fond of the main gang, so I welcomed the new characters. And side characters get more development than the 4 kids, so that might be interesting to watch (granted if you like Tenzin and his family).
The love triangle in Book One was a bad call with repercussions felt in Book Two. The humour is often hit-and-miss, particularly in regards to Bolin who has taken up the mantle of Sokka. I agree that Lin is probably one of the better characters of Book One which is why it is such a tragedy what was done to her character in Book Two, a situation that was somewhat remedied in Book Three. Amon, to my mind, is probably the better of all three villains in TLOK so far but I won't spoil it any further until you've watched all of Book One. Once you're done with it, and if you've set your mind to not continue watching Korra, I would strongly suggest to at least watch the two-parter "Beginnings" which focuses on Wan, the first Avatar. It is easily the best episode of TLOK so far.
I made a typo sorry, I meant that I finished the very first season of LOK, not episode. So I am aware of Amon and to put it simply, my main annoyance with him is his lack of screen time which constitutes to lack of any major character development on his part. The very last episode is the only part where we get anything substantial and there it serves more of a way to make me feel sympathetic towards him rather than expanding on his motives, movement and actions. Also such issues should have rather been worked on throughout the season.

It is indeed an issue when you try to fit certain arcs into only 13 episodes and which are never expanded upon in the series continuation (which is one reason why ATLA had a great mechanic to work on its narrative--an ultimate threat which could be expanded upon through each season focusing on different aspects while simultaneously working its way to the end goal). From your post I believe you mean that issues like the equalists movement aren't mentioned again?
OK, gonna give Season 2 a go. As you said, I doubt I might be more disappointed and I might even enjoy LOK for what it is.

While it makes some missteps all its own, I think many of a Season 2's issues exist because its trying to build off of Season 1's overly compressed plot and stunted character development. The said, I still think it was a slight improvement over Season 1 (Perhaps only because of a choice few episodes that were very good) and Season 3 is better than both. So I encourage you to persevere.I made a typo sorry, I meant that I finished the very first season of LOK, not episode.
