I feel that LoK really got into its stride in this last season. Book 2 does have a couple of my favorite episodes of the entire series telling the origin of the first avatar though.

Not trying to convince you. Your reply to me came off like you were trying to tell me how I should feel.
I just got banned a few days ago for getting into an argument like that.
Definitely not doing that again.
I think the game looks perfectly adequate for a $10 game, you think it looks weak. All's good, no ill will.

With book 3 also completed it's very easy for me to say that I see it as the best of the three. It was very consistent in its quality and actually had some very excellent episodes with a much more interesting antagonist than previous seasons and just better characters in focus than before. It finally feels like Korra has gotten everything to work together for one very good season. A really enjoyable watch that makes it so much easier for me to recommend Korra to anyone that I know that has yet to watch it

I've seen some suggest that Korra might end her life while in the Avatar state because she might perceive the Avatar as useless, thus ending the Avatar series for good.
Although the showrunners are working with DreamWorks to make more Avatar series, so guess that shoots that prediction down.

I think she's also questioning how important the role of the Avatar is and whether or not the world needs one, especially since the Airbenders have become some international police force now.

the World will always need the Avatar no matter what happens. the guy who said "we don't need you" is idiot, he has no idea what will happen once the Avatar is not here anymore.

It really seems like the world would be better off without the Avatar than with; the show is really suggesting that the time of the Avatar is done.
For example, Korra lost to Zaheer. He had her dead to rights until the airbenders stepped in and saved her life. She hasn't done much positive during her time as the Avatar, though what has happened has not been her fault.
Her defeat of Amon was after she lost all her powers outside of airbending, everything that happens in season two is a result of her being manipulated, and well season three is season three.

True, but if the airbenders are filling in her role, then the Avatar won't really mean much in the end. I mean, don't forget, it was ultimately the Airbenders that brought Zaheer down.

I really hope that the situation in the Earth Kingdom isn't resolve when book 4 begins. I rather have the kingdom shattered into provinces with regional warlords vying for control.

I'm guessing it will be a land fractured into several governments.

The world will always need there Avatar (or at least for the foreseeable future), it would be better if Korra could be begin to settle some things diplomatically instead of just punching everything though. But while I believe that the world will always need an Avatar, the people need to stop using him/her as a crutch and start solving some of there own problems.
[edit] I suppose technically the Avatar is not needed (but can still do a lot of good imo), if she wants to **** off and live like a hermit or something more power to her. The people will continue living there lives as they always have.
War. War never changes. LOL.

I also thought they might explore the subject of suicide in book4 (I'd be surprised if they actually did however, as that would be really dark). But as far as motivation is concerned, I think Korra could be tempted to end her life if it seems unlikely that she'll ever properly heal. In order to bring about a new, "fully functionnal" earthbender avatar, instead of letting the world "rely" on a crippled avatar.
But I'm pretty darn sure that won't happen.

The Avatar exists to help and assist the inhabitants of the world.
A formidable benevolent power that maintains a constant presence in the world.
To attempt to destroy such a force of good and think that there can be any positive outcome whatsoever is sheer and utter stupidity. What would have happened if Avatar Juan never existed? Avatar Kyoshi? Avatar Roku? Avatar Aang? Avatar Korra?
Where is there any evidence throughout the entire series that the world would be a better place without the Avatar?

Cassandra's Avatar Question to Korra

Korra said that to Cassandra after Korra learns that Cassandra was injured but alive thanks to her survival instinct after nearly losing her life when she was being assaulted by her own ex-mother's brother. (Real Life Assault)

Cassandra's Dangers Question to Korra

Cassandra's Bending Question to Korra

Cassandra's Second Avatar Question to Korra

Cassandra's Spirits Question to Korra

Korra talks to Cassandra in dreamland about true friends after Korra learns that Cassandra was betrayed by her former friends that were close to her in real life. (Real Life Betrayal forced Cassandra to cut off all contacts with everyone for four days)

I think so. A large part of LoK has been about Korra realizing what the true meaning of being the Avatar is, above and beyond all the flashy cool powers.
The important thing to take from Book 3 (I think) is that Korra doesn't have to bear the weight of the world on her own, as Jinora and her allies demonstrated. But I don't think LoK has done anything indicate to its viewers that the Avatar is irrelevant or useless. It also sounds like Korra (and Aang) have been forced to assume their role as Avatars long before they were emotionally ready to take on the role. Just my own opinion.

well beyond into the future. the last Avatar Cycle would be 800,000 years away.I don't know how many thousands of years it'll take, but Vaatu's existence should still keep the avatar/Raava relevant in the future.
