YES!
Nice. I wonder how much time Korra is going to spend in the recovery stage. I'm assuming that she's not going to start the new season fully recovered. I'm rather fond of happy endings so I'm hoping that not only does she recover but she manages to become stronger for the experience. Though I also hope the recovery isn't sudden but rather a progression. I actually hate the heroic recovery. "My arm is broken, my ribs fractured and I'm bleeding internally yet I somehow manage to get up and whoop the villain who isn't even bruised." I truly hate those recoveries. They just strike me as bull. I don't care how much adrenaline you have you can't suddenly undo broken bones or in Korra's case weeks or months of muscle atrophy.
I hope Korra stays crippled. It'd be cool to have a crippled avatar.

PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

They could do quite a bit with that little nugget of storyline, I bet. Let's hope they don't have her fully recovered by the first episode, it'd seem like a missed opportunity.Nice. I wonder how much time Korra is going to spend in the recovery stage.
Yeah. As powerful a being as the avatar is, she's not Superwoman. They could have a certain handful episodes that target her growth over time. What exactly they'll do is hard to say.I don't care how much adrenaline you have you can't suddenly undo broken bones or in Korra's case weeks or months of muscle atrophy.
Looks like Korra is getting a hair cut for Book 4.

Edit: Notice that she's also on her feet in the picture.
Its great to hear that book 4 will be out so soon. I hope the next villain will be able to live up to Zaheer.
Also, moar Varrick. He was seriously missed in book 3. Oh and moar General Iroh.
So then. As someone who hasn't touched this series yet can someone tell me if it's good? Whats good about? Anything new in regards to it? What makes it unique and a worthy successor to the Original show? Of course without spoilers. Responding here or PM whichever works.

Right outta the gate, what you'll notice is Korra is gorgeously animated. It's very fluid.
I don't consider it as good as good as Last Airbender. But the two are sorta different kinds of shows, so it'd be better to take Korra on its own merits.
While I admit to not being the hugest fan of the show (the second season fell flat for me). I still like it and I'm excited for Book 4.
Basically the most I can say when people ask my opinion on shows is to watch a few episodes and determine if you liked it enough to stick with it.

She looks cute! I like it! I wonder whats going to happen next. While the plots themselves as they play out are somewhat predictable, its usually the next season thats a surprise. You never know who Korra is or isnt going to date. Oh, and who the new bad guy might be, I guess.

For one, the artwork and music are absolutely phenomenal.
In a thematic sense, Korra has a very different feel to Last Airbender. Think sort of what KotOR II is to KotOR. LoK goes through alot of effort to deconstruct our assumptions regarding the nature of the Avatar's role in the world. At times, especially early on, it might seem that Korra as a character is extremely frustrating, but by the second half of Season 2 and especially Season 3, it becomes clear that all those elements were necessary to allow Korra to grow.
Last Airbender has an advantage in that it's one complete story split up into three seasons. Korra, on the other hand, has a different villain/conflict each season, which at times makes it feel disjointed. Also, while I like Korra's "Team Avatar", her supporting cast, especially Mako and Asami, really don't hold a candle to the original group of characters.
Overall, I think Korra is an amazing show and depending on what the writers do for Season 4, it may or may not surpass A:TLA. It's amazing regardless.
can someone tell me if it's good?
I'm greatly disappointed in the show, they always manage to start an interesting storyline with great potential, then each season got an unfulfilling conclusion.
Whats good about?
Well, the constructed world is still top notch original and I enjoyed the side characters a lot more than the main group.
Anything new in regards to it?
Plenty, the time skip done some pretty cool things in regards of the world state, although they don't get featured that much they were in season 1. The older age of the main cast only contributes to teen angst and cringeworthy romance subplots.
What makes it unique and a worthy successor to the Original show?
The show's greatest setback that it is a successor and can't decide if it wants to break ties with ATLA or cram in even more references to the old show (lots of side characters are descendants of the old ones, constantly remindig us about ATLA and each season adds new ones), which makes it hard for it to stand on its own.
The show is fine, people are just being too hard on a children's show and their nostalgia stops them from seeing that the problems in LoK were also present in AtlA.

One of the big issues with Korra is that it hits it's strongest point in book three. Unfortunately if you don't watch book one and two you won't get some of the references in book three. Book one is rather enjoyable and deals with some nice social issues though I was often left wondering how well the White Lotus had actually trained Korra.
The artwork is nice and I'm really glad that Korra is depicted as both strong in regards to her binding as the avatar should be but also strong physically. As far as personality goes Korra makes a lot of mistakes both when it comes how to handle a situation and who she should trust. However, she learns from these mistakes so there is some nice character development. It also gives the viewer a chance to speculate what the villains goals are at times and who she can really trust even if the foreshadowing is borderline putting a sign on their forehead in book two.
I'll just go ahead and say Unalaq might as well have the words evil ****** written on his forehead. Fun game look up a pick of his children Desna and Eska then try to guess which one is male and which one is female.
The combat is often highly praised and I agree though I'm glad that it isn't constant combat.
I noticed this while catching up on AtlA. The character dynamics and chemistry felt an awful lot more interesting than what was present in LoK.Also, while I like Korra's "Team Avatar", her supporting cast, especially Mako and Asami, really don't hold a candle to the original group of characters.
That's fair. The finales in particular haven't been the highlights either time around. They were great, but it didn't shock or amaze me beyond imagining. I'd say the 3rd finale did it best, then 1st, with 2nd at the end. They always manage to start an interesting storyline with great potential, then each season got an unfulfilling conclusion.
Animation quality seems to be lower compared to Book 3. I hope it's just that one scene, it would be a pity if the last season of LoK (and likely the whole franchise) was poorly animated.
Well, I'm glad they're starting with her in the wheel chair. Still, Korra looks healthy which is a good sign.
I think it's funny though how Tenzin's trying to reassure her that the Airbenders will take care of policing the world, when I'm sure that one of Korra's fears is that she has no place in the world anymore.
Aye, she looks less disheveled than in the finale episode. Homie Zaheer's words still having an effect... I'm curious if they'll spend the first few episodes more on that subject than tossing a major dilemma at their feet. Likely they'll have airbenders fending off someone/something while she's in her current state.
Just speculating, though.
I think that sounds about right.
I'm sort of expecting a Dark Knight Rises approach to Season 4. Korra's all broken down, new villain appears who is too much for surrounding characters to handle, Korra needs to build herself back up and rediscover the meaning of the Avatar, and then she takes out the main villain. It's got that whole "Bruce Wayne with a broken back" kinda vibe to it.
My guess, at any rate.

I'm totally down with that.
Hell, right now, I'm just so pleased they decided to take Korra in this direction. Very impressed with how they ended Book 3, depicting Korra as broken.
all dat Asami touching. She cant keep her hands off Korra's shoulders. *Drools*
