YES. The best element.

You're a waterbender! Water is the element of change. You are easily adaptable and move through life with a sense of fluidity. You may feel drawn towards a career helping/healing others. To become a master waterbender you must work in concert with your environment.

Got this as well. So glad I didn't get Water. Since Korra's a scrub and all.

You are the Avatar! As the only physical being with the ability to bend all four elements, it is considered the Avatar's duty to master the four bending arts and use that power to keep balance among the four nations of the world, as well as between mankind and spirits. Wow, go you!

You know Korra gets it pretty rough, I don't recall Aang getting beaten and bruised nearly as often as she does.

Because Aang's not nearly as often a scrub as she is.

Besides her already being a teenager without proper training from air, water and fire masters, the writers nerfed Korra's avatar state to hell and back. All that for the drama.

Do you remember that time Aang used his airbending to freeze the lavaflow from a volcano in "The Fortuneteller?" After that, the spirits realized that the avatar was totally imba and nerfed their bending. Korra can't do anything like that.

Inclined to agree - Aang's Avatar state was Full on God Mode. Korra's is more like Mega Man X with every upgrade. Powerful, but Aang was practically unstoppable from what I remember.

Aang seemed to deal with the burdens of the Avatar's Destiny better than Korra. She's getting it bad.

You're an earthbender! Earth is the element of substance. As an earthbender you are strong, persistent, and enduring. You may be stubborn at times but it is because you feel strongly about your beliefs. Since the key to earthbending is utilizing neutral jing, a master earthbender has great patience yet also knows when to be decisive.

Aang was more powerful out of the avatar state than Korra was in it.

I chock it up to the white lotus being terrible teachers. The Avatar is meant to travel the world and learn bending from various teachers and build-up a connection with the world, both physical and spiritual. Which is where I believe is where alot of the power of the Avatar state comes from. Aang did alot of that both pre and post iceburg nap. Korra has only really started, which was then halted for 3 years because of Zaheer.

I think you need to work for it to get anything from being the Avatar. Korra, got most of it handed to her, including her Avatar state. Aangs ghost decided to just give it too her when the ability should be earned.

Really we can blame Aang overall for Korras lesser ability Physically, Mentally, and Spiritually since it was his idea to seclude his successor until the lotus felt her ready. She wasn't fully prepared for how scary and complex the world is.

That's my interpretation of it anyway.

Since once Korra started getting out of Republic City in Season 2 she started getting better.

Rewatch Roku's training montage. The man's a monster. He seems like the most powerful Avatar when not using the Avatar State.

Heck it seems like there were more powerful benders back in the day. Considering that Roku spent decades training, unless she dies Korra has the rest of her life to get better. Like the old school kind of better.

Yeah but Roku's also a dick who wanted Aang to straight up murder his own grandson for a reason I very much stand with Zuko on.

Moral character is half the battle here.

I'd argue Wan is the most powerful, since his bending came straight from the source and he would've had to develop some early bending techniques.

I'd argue against that.

Zuko wanted to keep a colony that was Firebenders and Earthbenders living in harmony where it was.

Aang and Roku wanted it gone because Harmony is "Every Bender should stay in their nation".

That's not Harmony. It's Segregation, isolation, seclusion. (Which even by the end of the book Roku admitted it was old ideas for an old world. Ill-suited for the everchanging I daresay globalized world Aang now lived in.)

That Colony later became Republic City btw.

Even though Wan's power came directly from Raava the extent of his bending knowledge and skill in his prime is unknown to us. As shown during his training montage Roku's bending feats outside of the Avatar State exceeded those displayed by Wan in scope. Roku also benefits from learning bending after centuries of refinement for combat, and by having the ability to tap into the knowledge of past avatars. Wan may very well be the most powerful avatar, but so far he's lacking in feats.

Just rewatched the clip, and Roku's waterbending was ridiculous. Him blowing up Sozin's palace was too.

He did take out the Avatar equivalent to the Devil a heck of a lot faster than Korra did. Even managed to avoid him pretty well before getting all Avatar stated.

I won't argue Roku was powerful. He certainly was. But as far as being the Avatar goes, his ideology was biased and flawed, which left a negative and contradictory influence on Aang (Since by Rokus logic, Aangs relationship with Katara was wrong), as shown in The Promise.

Strength isn't everything. That's the lesson Korra is learning the hard way.

Aye, raw power ain't gonna cut it. I think the Waterbending Teacher from AtlA hit that beat a little bit.
