He did take out the Avatar equivalent to the Devil a heck of a lot faster than Korra did. Even managed to avoid him pretty well before getting all Avatar stated.

I won't argue Roku was powerful. He certainly was. But as far as being the Avatar goes, his ideology was biased and flawed, which left a negative and contradictory influence on Aang (Since by Rokus logic, Aangs relationship with Katara was wrong), as shown in The Promise.
 zzzz
Strength isn't everything. That's the lesson Korra is learning the hard way.

No argument here. I'm only on about bending feats.

GOD DAMN! Now that is an AVATAR!

Nah, Kyoshi was much better in my opinion.

I love how Toph was echoing my thoughts in this episode, i think the explanation was a bit of a cop out, i would have accepted a wounded spirit, and damaged psyche over, the "Still poisoned" excuse. there may be more to it than that though as some kind of psychological block is definitely happening with Korra.

I dont know how the other nations didn't see Kovira for what she was until that moment. Kind of ashamed at Sui for not stepping up, i know it was for the sake of story, but she really should have acted sooner. Especially if she knew what Kuvira was really up to.

Any particular reason why Kuvira couldn't just sit Wu on the throne and then rule through him? He is obviously eager to let someone do all the work for him.

Was it really necessary to spit every world leader in the face?

Anyway, I'm really hoping Zuko's daugther; whose chin is the stuff of legends, BTW; sends her troops against the Earth Empire before the season is over.

Seriously, it's the last book and I want some Fire Nation damn it!

I used to be concerned Kuvira, but then Bolin said "Fine, I'm going to go back to my awesome train where we bring freedom wherever we go!" I'm sold. Long live the great uniter!

This is a good idea unfortunately, the plot demands a antagonist who the heroine can oppose directly in the right, without making it seem like she is also opposing the newly restored Earth Empire/Kingdom. This way Korra looks like shes fighting on the side of the free world as oppose to simply her own agenda like in previous books. However like in book 1 she seems to also be fighting against the peoples wishes again as well. Lastly Kuvira is egotistical, it's her way or no way, her ego wouldn't allow her to simply control from the shadows, she wants center stage, and all the credit that comes with it.

Another great episode. Toph and Korra echoes Aang and Korra. Loved the Mako-Bolin conflict.

Gonna be honest though, not a huge fan of Kuvira's "I always get what I want" line. As an antagonist, I won't want her being so obviously greedy. I want her to be someone who honestly thinks that she's helping the world via her dictatorship, even if she's completely wrong.

Kuvira does have a point. The Republic City President himself did say that he would be sending a delegation to help with the ruling; probably with the best interests of Republic City, and not the Earth Kingdom; in mind.

I honestly think the Earth Kingdom Monarchy should just get chucked out the window, because they seem to have done more harm than good in the past century. Kuvira's not wrong in that regard. Wanting a more stable, united government isn't wrong, and in some respects, Kuvira is bringing the security and salvation that the Monarchy never has given to the citizens.

Well, there was the innefective king who let his city be run by the Daili while allowinf cities like Omashu to be all but autonomous; right before doing nothing while the Earth Kingdom was conquered by the Fire Nation; who then proceeded to nearly restart the Hundred Years War because he needed to look like a man.

Then there was the queen who let the city fall, even further into poverty while plotting to build an army of Airbenders to, most likely, retake Republic City territory.

And now there is Wu.

Well, they aren't Sozin, at least.

Hakoda is still a worst leader.

Take every single man away from your women for two years; thus creating a two year period without a single birth in your society (how many First Nation babies were born in that time, I wonder); for an alliance that I never really saw the Southern Water Tribe geting much out of.

Nice work, genius. If Zuko was less of a good person, even his toy ship would have been enough to destroy your whole tribe.

when that unification comes under the threat of bodily harm or starvation though? Also the Earth Kingdom was stable for the most part, though yes some did live under a certain level of quality, it was still stable for the most part only the one bandit raider gang who i first suspected worked for the Queen anyway caused problems. I was wrong, but still there you have it. We would have to see what Kuvira does if the story allowed her to take office and do what she wanted, problem is good intentions don't always live up to their hype when it comes time to do what you said you would, and the only difference between a Empire and a Dynasty is the fact that the Dynasty is usually the Empires founders descendant.

She was a successful cop who has two Badass daughters. She's earned the right to become a badass old lady hanging out wherever she pleases.

Better than what Katara is doing...

Nothing.

By that reasoning Katara raised two awesome sons and a daughter as well. Not to mention she helped the White Lotus train Korra and helped her recover after her encounter with Zaheer. I'm not entirely sure what your point is.

No, she grew up to be chief of police.
