I was not even a little surprised they ended it with Korra and Asami getting together. It was heavily hinted at throughout the show. Mako and Bolin hadn't been an option for Korra since the end of season 2, which only left Asami or someone new. There had never been anyone new though. Some people mentioned General Iroh or prince Wu... but both only existed on the fringes, they were never central to the plot.
This article describes it all very well: http://www.vanityfai...recap-gay-asami

I think this confirms it

''But the real Thing came in the final moments of the series when our hero, Korra, walked off into the sunset (well, technically, a spirit portal) not with the ever-heroic Mako or the recently-heroic Prince Wu, but with Asami, her close friend. But if you think this final shot was denoting mere friendship, you’re kidding yourself. The significance of this closing image (a mirror of the kiss between Aang and Katara that closed out Avatar: The Last Airbender) is made all the more important because of how Korra and Asami met.''

Speaking of Iroh Man, its a shame he never appeared afterwards.
Just watched the finally last night. Very exciting, entertaining, and indeed very surprising. Season 4 (and if I remember correctly season 3) did plenty of teasing for for Korrasami, and though I always thought it would be a cute pairing, I didn't think they would go through with it. Definitely a pleasant surprise.
Funny enough, a few weeks ago (during the episode Korra and the gang reunited) someone essentially called that the show would end with Korra and Asami walking into the sunset. Whoever that was, good call.
Other than that, I'm sad to see the show end, I really enjoyed its whole run. It was a unique show with tons of character and its definitely sad knowing there wont be a new episode next week.

Korra's gay?
Good.
About time we have gay protagonists in kid's shows.
Jesus Christ, these things are so simple but dumb (supposedly smart) people make it difficult.
Btw, is it all done now? Can I watch the series from top to bottom?
Or is there gonna be a book 5?
Nope, it's all done.

Oh goody.
Will watch it early next year then.
Looking forward to it.
Especially for yuri couplings ![]()
Seiously. If korra or asami were a guy. Almost no one would think or argue they are just friends.*rolls eyes*
Even if it was Bolin?
Well anyways, anyone suggesting that there is concrete evidence to support either belief is wrong imo. And this isn't directed at you, but could we like respect how anyone chooses to view it.

I'd like this post but I reached the quota again. I swear they lowered it while I was gone.
And given that people have been vocally shipping them for a while now I would agree that the intent is there for those people see it that way. But I also think that they left it open to interpretation for a reason (and not because of censors), for people that might not be impressed with fanservice that blatant or they may not feel that there was enough lead up to it, and they can still view it how they would like to.

Technically, she's bi. Sexuality is based on who you are attracted to not who you are with.

Why would Bolin do that with Korra? wasn't he dancing with his gf?
and of course, that's your opinion after all.
also, I am respecting everyone's opinion. that was my response and it wasn't directed at anyone specifically

I loved the series finale. I thought it was better than ATLA's series finale, which had the whole lion-turtle and energy-bending angle come out of nowhere. I also thought that Korra sparing Kuvira was a lot more meaningful than Aang's sparing of Ozai, as it represents Korra's character development coming full circle, from belligerent and hot-headed teen to a more compassionate and forgiving adult. Another plus for me was essentially that everyone during the finale was essentially working in unison to defeat Kuvira and using their smarts to do so, rather than some hyper-powered fight between the protagonist and the main villain ala ATLA.
Other pros include:
+Korra pointing out her's and Kuvira's similarities with each other.
+Varrick and Zhu Li's wedding
+Varrick in general. He really did shine this season.
+Kuvira and Korra's evenly matched one-on-one in the head of the mech.
+Korrasami. I much prefer it to Makorra.
+Mako and Bolin's exchange before Mako decided to destroy the spirit-vine with his lightning bending.
+And of course, Mako's ensuing scene where he actually does destroy the spirit-vine.
Overall, it was a great finale. I really hope this isn't the end of the entire Avatar series as I want to see a continuation of Korra or have another series focus on another Avatar, preferably the next Avatar after Korra.
I'm all for Netflix working with Mike and Bryan on another Avatar series.

So, I updated my tumblr a bit and got around to posting my reviews on episodes 9 and 10. I'll try to get to the finale by Monday at the latest.

Well, good for her.
Glad Nick decided to go for the gay couple though.
Refreshing
Teach kids that being gay is just as awesome as wanting to eat 'dat *****.
Well...
In Korra's case it's that.
But yeah.
You know what I mean ![]()

They should've used him more
By the by, does anyone know a thing or two about editing html code on tumblr? I want to remove the white space above my site's header, if possible.
EDIT: Never mind, I just did it. ![]()

Excellent.
That was a good finale, probably even better than ATLA's.
You have Varrick's proposal, Wu's singing, Hiroshi's sacrifice, Bolin's lava shuriken, Mako being cool, Bolin, Korra manhandling Kuvira, Kuvira being given a sliver of depth and sympathy, Korra's and Wu's character development, Julie's and Varrick's wedding, and Korrasami... mmm.
Hope there's another series?
