Well my only exposure to the fandom has been this thread. And that's certainly not the impression I got.
Because, ironically being that this is bsn, your face with all the "lovers" of the series here. If you go to other gatherings of Avatar watchers they pop up like a bad rash.

The Shipping parts of fandoms are always the worst.
That was a common consensus during the RWBY threads Heyday.

Like most things in life.
It all goes back to Pokémon.
A series where there is no romance.
Yet the shipping fandom of it is still very much alive to this day.
May some higher being have mercy on their souls.

Pokemon? Hell, it started from the first Star trek.

Yet it was nowhere near as bad as Pokémon.

Since everyone and their mother seems to be obsessed with the Korrasami thing, Kotaku released an article with some tidbits on said subject from the co-creators.

Good. Happy they cleared it up in completely non-ambiguous terms, so naysayers can start "dealing with it". Had to tell a few people to rewatch book 3 and 4 while paying more attention to the interactions between Korra and Asami myself.
And now I want a comic book/light novel about their journey in the spirit world. Make it happen Nick.
But it doesn't start until they met back up in Book 4

Actually it starts in Book 3. Becomes especially evident in the end of Book 3 after Zaheer has been defeated.

Whoops.Old....Sorry.
Well, I'll throw in my 2 cents. They're the first family show I'm aware of, cartoon or not, to pull off a serious and meaningful depiction of an F/F relationship; I tip my hat to them.
As far as the rest of the 2 parter? I was very happy with it. The first half was expectantly full of action sequences to bring down the mean green tyrant. Some lives were lost, others saved. Plenty of drama.
The only nitpick I'd throw in is something else mentioned from an old friend of mine, how Korra resolved kuvira as an enemy could be seen as very contrived. I figured they'd solve it in a way that didn't involve Death/Imprisonment/Etc, guess I'm surprised how Kuvira was in less of a Stabby-Stabby mood after being blasted into the spirit realm. I like the idea, but it could've used more time to develop said idea. Maybe have her and Korra have more of a struggle.
I think they did well overall, and it's a good sendoff to a great series. Let's hope the same team continues new ventures outside of the Avatar Universe.

So Mako fans and neutral viewers, how do you feel about his character being solidified as the de facto butt monkey stooge of the series?
He went out like a boss.
And he'll probably find someone else.

Like really, he never showed any intention of wanting to get with Korra and states himself that he isn't interested in anyone. Saying that he will always have Korra's back was an act of friendship and not him going "please Korra choose meeeeeeeee!!!"
I think Mako's "ending" is fine, not everyone has to end up with someone for a show to have a good ending.

Like I said, couldn't help myself.
But to be on topic. I don't see much a problem with Korra and Asami hanging out in the Spirit World. If a threat comes up Jinora can always go there in spirit form and tell them. It's not much of a problem. Especially given that spirit portal that's now right in the middle of Republic City.
Well, please try. I relate a lot to that character for very personal reasons so stuff like that upsets me.
On topic, even if Jinora alerts them it will take them time to exit the Spirit World since they went there physically. Or do you think they will only explore the immediate vicinity to the portal on their months long vacation?
Yeah, he was a joke. Society was fine though I thought. All his problems were of the personal nature and due to him being fool. Society was going through peaceful period wasn't it? Who knows maybe I imagined all this.
He never goes much into it other than "the world seemed to be solving its own problems". That's not necessarily a positive.
The incident with Koh was pretty much the only thing. I doubt Korra would make the same mistake, and she went through a lot more than that guy.
She made literally the same mistake: let the world solve its own problems. The consequences for her just happened to be a misguided dictator rather than a face stealing spirit.
I think this is my favorite part of either of the blogs, because I've seen so many people going "Pfft it just came out of the blue, it didnt make any sense!" and I'm just like "Are you blind? Theres been subtle buildup for quite some time."
Rewatched all of Season 3 after the finale. Still don't see this buildup people like you refer to.
...What? Peaple are harder on korra. Hell, their people who call her the worst avatar ever and were frustrated with her to no end in book 2.
Well to be fair if it wasn't for her actions in Season 2 then Zaheer and Kuvira would never have done what they did.

I would never imagine Nick to have an official lesbian couple. Well, they did censor a gay kiss from Clarence, so one step at a time. While I prefer for Korra to end up with Mako, I'm find with how it ends as well.

While everyone is gushing, they can't notice if it was poor or lackluster.

I'm neutral about Korrasami but I wonder if the writers didn't put it there so the ending would be memorable.
While everyone is gushing, they can't notice if it was poor or lackluster.
As many others have said, it felt like a season ending, not the ending of the series itself.

Bryan too:

Good.
But knowing people, they will still deny it.
It's still baffles me that for gay/bi ships, we need confirmations from the creators, whereas with straight ships it's just there and everybody knows it.
Anyway, happy dance. ![]()

... Though out of the two brothers, I always considered Bolin to be the one who would end up gay in the end... I lost my bet with myself. I owe myself a slap.
<- actual gay male.
