I wouldn't be surprised if most fans who wanted this pairing to happen were more than half expecting it not to. I was actually expecting Korra to have no romantic partnership at the end, so I was pretty surprised.

A new graphic novel for ATLA has been confirmed. It will be titled, "Smoke and Shadow" and will feature Zuko and Mai dealing with an organization called The New Ozai Society intent on getting Zuko off the throne. According to the source (linked below), part one will arrive September 23rd and part two December 16th. This is a bit late to my mind, same as the art book for Book Four of Korra that releases on September, but I'll take what I can get. No news on Korra graphic novels but one can hope.

And they really simplified Book 3 and 4 because of it, not that that is bad thing per se. Just not overly ambitious.

All the antagonists were benders other than fire benders. Mind blown. It really shows that it's not the power itself but those who wield it that are evil/wrong.

I always wanted to be a firebender because of how much ass they kicked in TLA, but then LOK showed how badass earth and air was..... Now that I think about it,Water bending was only show a lot during season 2. After that it's like water bending itself disappeared. We get that armless woman and that's about it 
Even Korra bearly used it. Also didn't like that fighting style in LOK. It was basically boxing with fire and **** coming out of your hands

I'd imagine waterbending isn't particularly common outside the poles. Season 2 was the only one that spent any significant amount in either one, so I somewhat expected it.

lol same here,I loved watching firebenders back in day .Bending in ATLA was more slower and impactful.I always wondered why LoK didn't impress me with its fight scenes but finally figured out .
