Wait aren't Spongebob, Squidward, Bert and Ernie gay?

Spongebob is asexual supposedly.

What the hell is going on here?

Sexual orientation talk. Wanna contribute?

I'm straight.  Would you like a cookie?

So am I (See what I did there?). I wouldn't mind having a cookie though, no raisins.

You said "I'm straight". Sometimes people use that to mean "That's ok" or something similar. We were talking about sexual orientation so I said "So am I" when you said "I'm straight".

Your not serious. Your not. No.

Both Spongebob and Squidward are stereotypes of upper class gay men. As for Bert and Ernie. Well,  it's pretty obvious what's going on there.

I like how...I disappear for a few hours and...we're discussing bert and ernie being gay and spongebob being asexual and patrick riding mermaids in boat cars...I literally just LOL'D so hard my mum thinks I'm crazy. I just saw Skeletons in the Closet and Endgame 1channel.ch apparently rolled em together but either way it was incredible! I don't care what anyone says I loved it! Other than Tarrlok killing himself and Noatok/Amon :(...Did anyone else have a Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayuuuum moment when they got to see him without his mask? 'Cause my jaw LITERALLY dropped. Anywho I was disappointed that that's how they left it, I was hoping Noatok would live and maybe even pull a Zuko and help Korra...

As for the bloodbending...wuhhhhh? I ju- huh? I think I'd have liked a little more explanation or my preferred storyline to explain his power to take bending away would be that he learned it from the Lion Turtle thing. Anyway I sincerely hope Noatok ISN'T dead, I'm glad Lin has her bending back and same with Korra :D but I can't help but feel like it's over...I mean there was talk there'd be another season but seriously with that weak tarlok blows them both up on a boat away crap...with Noatok gone...What could they possibly do? *cries* I'm just...so confused D':

This was a season finale, btw. Not a series finale.

(and I'm surprised that there are folks who were unhappy that Nick did a Nick style ending....)

Tarlokk said that when Amon took his bending away, he recognized his brother's bloodbending. That's a 100% confirmation that he was indeed using bloodbending to "block" people's bending.

Still, it doesn't feel any less cheap as a plotpoint. Blood-bending, far as we could tell, has strict effects. Amon isn't constantly blood-bending all these people, far as we know. Just saying that blood-bending-->Energy bending feels like a cop-out.

people forget that sometimes this is fundementally a kid's show directed towards kids

I personally thought the ending was terrible, with Deux ex Machina Aang appearing out of nowhere and activating avatar god mode hacks to revert an entire season of writing and build up

also throwing away amon just like that, such a well developped and calm villain.

There is no cliffhanger or nothing indicating what will happen in season 2, for sure they will introduce a new threat, but that's just really bland and not fun.

Glad you liked it too, I was in a fit of tears and laughter from it. My mum thought I was crazy again so I made her watch the episode then look at the picture and she was like 'I see what they did there' ;)

Don't mean to sound like a nerd, but even though LOK had more action in her first book compared to ATLAB, didn't anyone notice it was a lot of "visual noise" (which I'm a fan of btw) and less of traditional forms like in ATLAB?

I've studied 3 different styles in a traditional setting and always appreciated how
atlab made Toph's Hung-Gar forms really traditional. That was as present in this one.

Not nerdy at all, I noticed it too. The way Bolin and Mako bend, reminds me of boxing which was very popular in that era. I'm a fan of both traditional and this new boxing style.

I took it as a reflection of changing times. Old traditions dying out and new ones taking shape in the forefront. Korra even commented about that early on when she argued with Tenzin after her first pro-bending match. They could have stuck to traditional forms if they wanted to, I expect. It was probably a conscious decision not to.

Again, no body = no dead villain. There's no reason to believe Amon won't be back.

Also, we have lead up for Aang being able to own with spirit bending. It's just that it mostly happens at the end of the old show. Also, glowing eyes demonstrate that blood bending seal is not spirit bending and that spirit bending is the superior technique. The demonstration simply showed us that a realized avatar cannot be sealed with blood bending techniques.

I'd hardly call one character committing  murder-suicide due to depression a 'Nick' style ending. Actually what is a 'Nick' style ending? Season 2 of TLA had a 14 year old girl electrocute an 11 year old boy to death and an entire war won to the bad guys for it's ending.

Reason I didn't like the ending is it's pacing, there was just too much happening too fast with no explanation, and with a season 2 confirmed what threat is left for Korra to face? I get that the series was only meant to orginally last this long but still most of it was about Korra and Mako's teen angst romance, the series needed more writers like TLA had.

I suppose the time period they're emulating is a lot like the turn of the twentieth century, which is when American Boxing got it's start. Still Hung Gar (Earth Bending) Shaolin Boxing and Wushu (Fire Bending) are and have always been competition sports since they were invented. If you've every seen Once Upon A Time In China with Jet Li or any incarnation of Wong Fei Hung's story you'll see him use Drunken Boxing almost exclusively and that form was born from Hung Gar. Hell, Jet Li has an olympic medal for Wushu from the 70's. So utilizing it would've still fit the frame work of the narrative they were trying to create.

It's just something I really liked about ATLAB and though they should've been prideful of it.

Man, Tarrlok. There was a chance for you guys, you didn't have to go and do that.

I feel like, Re: Korra's bending, they squeezed three or four episodes worth of plot development into maybe thirty seconds. That could have been handled better.

Hmm, now I'm really going to have to check those out. I LOVE Hung Gar, Shaolin Boxing and Wushu, I'd love to learn 'em but hopefully when I get in the military I'll be able to learn them. I know it would have still fit, but I guess because they're youngin's and the youngin's go with what's hip and cool, they took to American Boxing because it's hot and new, it was quite funny when I saw Bolin teaching Korra that I was like OO OO BOXING!

I really liked it too, it even got my mum to watch it with all the different fighting styles she actually watched ATLAB. But oh well, who knows maybe we'll see a character with the 'traditional' bending :D.

For everyone's viewing pleasure, I bring you more funny
