Might be a little heavy for most kids shows. But if Avatar was like most kids shows, I for one, wouldn't like it as much as I do.
I think they can pull it off.

Yeah, seems to me like Bryke has really stepped up their game with LoK.General User wrote...
They might be dead, but their spirit lives on. Literally in some cases. Cycle of life / circle of death, Yin and Yang, and all that.

We know for a fact that one is alive and only one is confirmed dead, and he is technically still alive in two different forms at the same time. No one else's status has been confirmed yet.

That would be my worry with extending this series. Not that it makes me want to see a new season order any less. Twenty-six episodes is a little over one book of LAB, though. Not nearly enough to slake my Avatar thirst. They definitelly gotta order at least another thirteen.
Like Godak, I'm intrigured with the possibilities of where this story can go. They can't go the same way as Aang while sticking to one location for the duration, and already having Korra being a master of three elements. I suppose it could take her ages to master the Avatar State following airbending, but that wouldn't sustain a long series, I would imagine. Besides, it would feel too similar to LAB. I don't know about anyone else, but seeing the same story twice would be kind of dull.
I agree. I think somewhere in the 35-40 range would be better. A could mix between brevity and the length the original series had. As it stands, Korra is too awesome to just let go so early.

I'll get a real kick out of seeing a "grown up" Aang.

I wonder if Aang's "spirit form" will be grown up like Roku?

I'm pretty sure he's similar to how his son looks, and it's reflected in effigy as well. Also Roku's spirit form was when he was at the "height" of his importance and not how he looked when he died. Granted both are rather old, but when Roku died he was older and was burnt to a crisp, and his avatar form doesn't reflect this.

Interesting though, yes. It will be fun to see how close to the mark this is down the line.

More like bad fan fic and more assumptions than I can swing a dead cat at. And I know about swinging dead cats at things. Like Lumberjacks.

Has anyone checked out Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Promise? Apparently there will be there of these books bridging the gap between the two shows. It will be interesting to see how Republic City develops and if there is any truth to that speculation about Lin and the Equalists' origins. Definitely picking those up.

But y'know, I'm not crazy about the idea of people running around with the power to burn off faces or stab someone with flying icicles.
The Triple Threat Triad sure was humbled fast. I thought they play a bigger role in this series. Three episodes in and one of the gang leaders is already powerless. XD
