Definitely. I mean, if this is an issue that's been ongoing since the 100 year war, why would it suddenly become so violent now.OdanUrr wrote...
Anyone thinking Unalaq might have set some spirits loose in the first place for his own agenda? It's a bit convenient that spirits are showing up now, isn't it?

Nothing against Asami, but I've never found her character terribly interesting.

Maybe the "time is right" type thing, like Sozen's Comet in ATLA.

What was up with Tenzin's daughter, Jinora? From the trailers, she has something interesting going on with her. She heard voices in that avatar tomb/cave, and something caught her attention with that final statue.
I'm assuming that Wan is trying to connect with her, for what reason - who knows. She saw something in that statue of Aang and then it led her to that "tiny" wooden statue of Wan (the first Avatar). It seemed like it was secluded, compared to the rest as well, strangely.

The statue that glowed up was Wan? It looked feminine to me, with the wings an all.

Maybe, but another thing I noticed was that the dark spirits and the angry ones in Tonraq's flashback didn't look the same. These are amorphous and purple while those had features and were green. Significant?spirosz wrote...

Some interesting bits:
It’s too early to tell if Unalaq will be the season’s primary villain, but if he is, it feels like the writers are exposing him far too soon. Korra’s uncle is conveniently able to send the spirits away with his control of the spirit world. Is he simply that good, or somehow responsible for the spirits attacking the villages? Unlike Amon, Unalaq does not have that air of mystery surrounding him – he just appears to be another power hungry villain. But again, perhaps it’s premature to label him as the villain. Only time will tell.
Even with all of the drama, DiMartino and Konietzko haven’t forgotten to make us laugh. Bolin knows how to soften a serious moment, while the addition of actress Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Rec) as Eska helps to lighten the mood in the most dire of scenarios.
Korra is going to have to learn to control her pride and impatience before she pushes away everyone in her life who cares for her. (...) Is it too much to ask of a young woman like Korra to balance being the Avatar, having a boyfriend, and learning what it means to be an adult all at the same time? Korra’s battle with her own emotions could be her most difficult challenge yet. She will most likely have to deal with her internal struggle before she can take on the dangers that threaten those she holds most dear.
By the by, the next couple of episodes are "Civil Wars" part 1 and part 2.

"Civil Wars" so early, make me think that maybe Unalaq and his occupation are a much smaller part of the season plot than we think.
Maybe it will be a really civil war that works itself out in two episodes.

The trailers sort of foreshadow that Jinora's going to take over as Korra's spiritual guide. Should be interesting imo

So, I wasn't the biggest fan of the first season, but I'm liking this series infinitely more now. The characters especially feel much more human and believable this time around; not to mention significantly more likable (and on a side note, the dynamic between Bolin and his girlfriend is hilarious). And the animation, particularly in the action scenes, is easily on the level of something like "Fate/Zero" or "Angel Beats!". One complaint is that it was a little obvious that Korra's uncle had an agenda, but as it never truly felt like they were trying to hide that, I guess it can be overlooked. Excited to see where it goes from here.

I'm sorry guys. I'm so sorry. I know that you like her, and you aren't going to want to hear this, but Eska is going to murder Asami. It may not happen next week, and it may not even happen before the end of Book 2, but Asami is as good as dead.
I actually like Eska a lot more than I ever liked Asami (which was never that much at all). Yandere Eska would be okay with me.

Eska kills Asami so
Bolin kills Eska for justice then
Eska's brother kills Bolin which leads to
Mako killing Eska's brother and then
Lin arrests Mako which causes
Korra to accidently kill Lin while breaking Mako out of jail which would mean
Tenzin would give Korra an annoying speech on responsibility.
