Could it be possible that the original benders were once spirits and then took on a psychical form?

And Jreezy. Zombie benders are already in season 2.

I'll be damned. The first avatar was Aladdin?

Since Glenn voiced the First Avatar, can we now expect zombies to be introduced in the series?

Zombie benders for Book 3. Semi-confirmed rumor.

Worn out like "pre-ordered cancelled" find a new joke.

What spirits have been shown actually bending?

Anyone else hope vaatu isn't the main villain for this season? He's a great concept and would like to have him play part, but I'm hoping he isn't the puppetmaster behind everything. Better to have the villains goal be to release vaatu, then for him to be the actual villain korra has to fight.

I don't hate Avatar or LoK, but I never understood the gigantic appeal. They're ok cartoons, I suppose, but to me, I just can't get into them.

inb4 Varrick is the host of Vaatu who sought to create an anti Avatar to defeat Raava.

Varrick is probably in it for the most sane reason imaginable.

Money, lots of it.

It's obvious what Varrick's motive is: money.

He is no friend of the Northern Water Tribe, Unalaq or Vaatu. I do not think he materminded some grand evil scheme to start a civil war, take over the world or cover the world in darkness.  However, he sees a way and other people's misery, so he uses that opportunity to make money, all the while pretending to be a "I'm-on-your-side" to the Avatar and the good guys. He is basically a war profiteer pretending to be a patriot who just wants to offer his helps and services to friends and compatriots.

A lot of YouTubers have remarked that a character that's so funny and likeable can turn out to be so capitalist and so evil.

Love this series... teaching the young minds a little about capitalism and conservative politics.

Varrick is basically the Avatar verse's first known arms trafficker.

Yup. It's likely Varrick is little more than an opportunistic businessman. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if he doesn't get his comeuppance at the end. I imagine Asami will eventually retake Future Industries, but I don't know if anything Varrick's done is worthy of vigilante Avatar justice. Team Korra can't just pummel him into a jail cell. I doubt Varrick can even be arrested for bribery considering they were all complicit in his actions at some point. The only proof Mako even has is a detonator from the cultural center bombing.

I also can't see Varrick going full tilt psycho the way Sato did during Amon's coup. Sato acted irrationally out of rage born from grief. Worst case scenario for Varrick is he cuts his losses and moves on to a new scheme.

If they do catch Varrick I hope it's done so cleverly. It'll be disappointing if some deus ex machina solution drops on Lin's lap a la the judge Korra intimidated giving up almost everything about Unalaq. :P

Other series are getting a break and are nowhere close to mid-season.

I think I'll just stick to watching the original series. Every. Last. Episode.

Watch Kill La Kill to compensate for lack of Korra. Or Persona 4: The Animation. Or Darker Than Black. Or Black Lagoon. Or Hellsing Ultimate
