God, so Unalaq really is a cheesy power hungry muppet who deals with an incredibly obvious evil being. I hate being right.

Someone needs to compile these and use Katara's voiceover about believing the Avatar will save the world.:D

That thing made me love Varrick even more.

Yeah, not sure what was the point. Just to wound his pride a bit?

I thought we'd already established that throughout Book 2 and particularly when Korra dumps him for Unalaq.

I wonder what Vaatu promised Unalaq as the reward for freeing the him. Obviously Vaatu has not told Unalaq that he is the Spirit of Chaos and Darkness and his release from his imprisonment would potentially bring about the end of humanity.

Unalaq must have been able to entered the Spirit World (dyring meditation and in his spiritual form) before Korra opened the Southern portal, and he as a spirit in the Spirit World must have encountered Vaatu who had instructed him to do the spirit's bidding.

Maybe he did and Vaatu gave him the usual "I'll save you from this fate" type speal.

My guess is writers wanted to be even more cruel to him.

Oh, wow. So Mako and Asami are back together. Greaaat, and Korra's been gone for what, like a week apparently ? Man, I really hate this love triangle, I really do. Why would Asami even consider being with a guy who cheated on her and lied to her before. I thought that the kiss from "The Sting" was at best justifiable given the situation, but now it's just boggles my mind.

The best part is that... the writers are trolling us, I mean the line from Bolin pretty much proves it. Then again all this "shipping"/OTP bussiness is just repulsive to me, so... meh.

Jesus, does anyone else feel bad for Asami? She's totally being strung along, only this time it's not just by Mako, now it's also with Varrick in a time where her entire livelihood is near the crapper. It's like she's just a pawn in tug of war matches by forces she has no control over.

Yeah I've always felt bad for Asami. I'm surprised she doesn't say "screw this BS" and leave to start anew somewhere.

I'm hoping she ends up doing her own thing, has her own little "story" that still stays parrell to the events that will unfold, but we see it from Asami's perspective. I find she is interesting enough, that it might work, plus not being a bender.

I guess it's a testimony to her strong character and motivation. She lost her mother at a young age, had to see her father become consumed in his hatred for benders and had to be the one to deal with him, got dumped in the middle of all that because her boyfriend was obviously attracted to someone else, and is now struggling to breath life into a near dead company. How she hasn't been consumed in despair is mind-boggling.

What surprises me is that they're so willing to place their trust on Varrick rather than on Mako. They could at least give him the benefit of the doubt.

Well I assume for Asami it's because he's pretty much giving her company the equivalent of a medical jump start and for Bolin he's given him a chance for stardom. Which really makes me wonder why he'd threaten Mako with their safety the way he did. As of right now Varrick actually needs those two.
