Yeah Varrick's pretty cool tbh. Ain't nothing wrong with geting dat money. He's a sensible villian, not in the realm of "lulz evil cause evil" yet.Steelcan wrote...

Edit: That was a great episode. Some beautiful vistas and incredible music. Iroh turning out to be some enlightened being who transcended his mortal bonds was kinda cool. I was afraid the rest would've been dull in comparison, but it was sweet.
Sucked what happened to Jinora, though. :/ I feel pretty bad for Tenzin. There isn't any ambiguity left to Unalaq at this point. He's about as stereotypically evil as it gets--right down to the smug grin that made me want to punch him in the mouth.

Quite a few people dislike Korra based on her behavior earlier this season. I don't think I've ever hated her, but I did start to dread every scene she was in after awhile. The last two episodes have done a lot to turn that around for me.
Besides, it's kind of hard to hate her when virtually the whole cast acted idiotic for most of these episodes. The only characters who haven't gotten on my nerves at some point are Tenzin and his family.

The relative derp of the rest of the cast has lessened the damage done by derp-korra. I haven't exactly analyzed the series to nearly the same depth, but I know what you mean. Tenzin doesn't quite have derp moments, more like awkwardly cute trying-to-do-the-right-thing-and-failing type of moments.Besides, it's kind of hard to hate her when virtually the whole cast acted idiotic for most of these episodes. Korra's mission report
Primary objective: Seal the South Pole's spirit portal
Secondary objective: Protect Jinora
Result:
- South Pole's spirit portal still unlocked
- North Pole's spirit portal is now unlocked as well
- Jinora has been captured
- The Avatar was almost killed
Recommendation: Search for a new Avatar

Likewise, if villains always acted intelligently heroes wouldn't stand a chance. Case in point: Unalaq telling Korra she should have come through the portal; 'cause then she'd have her bending. He might as well have hung a neon sign over his head with the words "Please kick my ass here in a future episode." XD

@OdanUrr - Any hero willing to make that trade would no longer be a hero by my estimation. To me a hero should be more than merely someone who saves the day. In any case, Greylycantrope is right. This is a thing goody two-shoes characters do.

It's just that it'd be refreshing if our main character were to say, "Yeah, go ahead and do her in while I close this portal."

As an aside, that's also why I felt zero tension when Unalaq had Jinora. Even if by some miracle Korra left Jinora to die, something would've happened to save her. >.>

Really hoping he'll reveal a bit more depth in the inevitable villainous monologue... unfortunately the monologue really is inevitable at this point,Zjarcal wrote...
