Same boat. Since I started working, I pass out around 10:30 p.m. There's going to be a lot of coffee tonight.

I wish real movies were as good as the Nuktuk movers. Can't beat ressurecting laser eyes fire ferrets.

I expected Varrick to get found out eventually, but geez was that anti-climatic. At least Bolin finally got to shine after being a clown this entire season. Although his little talk with Asami felt like it came out of nowhere given his behavior for the last few episodes. Apparently Asami also did jack all about Varrick too. Guess she got the same intelligence draining Kool-Aid they gave Lin. I couldn't help roll my eyes at her admission that Mako figured it out. So, I guess the lesson here is she really was *that* dumb this entire time. XD

I'm not even going to comment on how Mako handled Korra's kissing him. I will however, state how sad it is they conveniently made Korra forget their breakup because... drama!

Funny scene with Varrick in jail, tho'.

I hate you.

Also Nage got left behind. That better change or I am going to be unhappy. Yes my attachment to her is a little too much.
Edit: I am happy thats all I needed.

The narrator in the stands had me laughing hard.

Bumi is kinda awesome. Saving the day through inciting chaos. Now I really want to hear his stories. XD Seeing Naga up against a wall while they were sneaking around was hilarious.

So all the dark avatar theorizing turned out to be true? I wonder if it'll actually happen now? The chances a villain's plot will succeed after he reveals it is usually pretty low. :P

Varrick would have made a much better "dark avatar" ... Unalaq's the lowest form of villain. Bottom of the barrel.

Epic battle followed by eventual defeat of the bad guy, if they really want to make things interesting for next season someone might get trapped in the spirit world or something.

Nah, they showed the trailer for the finale and it looks like Unalaq does manage to pull it off, if at least temporarily.

And gotta say, I'm wondering if the writers are ever going to give Mako what he deserves. With that latest move, I don't think the writers have the right to give him any LI.

Too bad. I was hoping Vaatu would turn on Unalaq and zap or devour him. C'est la vie...

As much as Mako's latest act of douchery annoyed me, my sadistic side kinda enjoyed seeing Asami squirm. She went back to him, and then didn't say anything after his stunt. I'm losing respect for her fast. While I know it's writers nudging characters to act OOC, I'm so tired of Asami and Lin acting idiotic that it's negatively impacting my feelings toward them.

I was actually hoping that the writers were going to reveal that Lin knew about Varric the whole time and was only playing along to make him feel complacent.

There's been more than a few odd character choices for pretty much the entire original cast except maybe Tenzin.

I had hoped for that same outcome. All she managed to do was give Mako his props and fire the two fool detectives. -_-

To be bluntly honest, these last two episodes were pretty terrible from a narrative standpoint IMO. On the whole they were fun to watch. Some cool fight scenes; some cute comedy; and a touch of drama. But the characterization had more bad than good. There was also some terribly obvious exposition. I suppose asking to not have obvious plot points beaten over our heads is pushing it, though. This isn't Breaking Bad. XD

I don't know if I would've enjoyed these episodes as much if we didn't see several supporting characters get to shine for a bit.

I'm still cringing over Korra conveniently forgetting being dumped, Unalaq's arch villain exposition, and Varrick's deus ex machina flunky revealing all just so they can quickly wrap that plot up before getting everyone south. That subplot had so much build up, and they just threw it away in the most forced fashion. It was as bad as that judge who spilled everything to Korra earlier this season.

Like the first season I lean towards the seasons being so short. 12 episodes the first time and 14 now.

Something that really sets the two series apart.

Is anyone able to access the new episodes? Not sure where to go.

Edit: Nevermind.

For a second there, I thought Varrick would have prepared something just in case a giant dark avatar came rampaging through republic city.

Damn, just finished Season Two. So spoilers.

It's going to be extremely difficult to describe my feelings about this finale as a whole.

On a narrative/plot level, I think it's a huge mess. I don't get what Jinora's purpose in defeating Vaatu, amongst other things.

But on an emotional/dramatic/nostalgic level, it hits all the right notes, much like A:TLA's finale.

More to follow, but I think it has the potential for some extremely interesting stories down the line.

And props to the writers for concluding the Mako and Korra romance with some balls.

Slightly less props for kicking Asami to the side for the last two episodes. Posted Image

I'd love to go on a rant about how bad the finale was and how they seem to be incapable of writing a finale with out resorting to asspull after asspull. But really this image says all I possibly could and more.

I watched the finale a bit late. Decided to go to bed and see it tomorrow morning. Then I couldn't sleep due to excitement. XD So here I sit, exhausted.

I agree with what Il Divo wrote above. On a purely visceral level it was a nice finale. Not quite as moving as book one at the very end, but pretty close.

The story made very little sense on the whole. Jinora allowing Korra to detect Raava inside Unalaq/Vaatu made a semblance of sense given her established spiritual awareness. Why that broke Korra free from her bonds, who knows? XD

On the whole, this felt very much like Tenzin's season. The part when he realizes who he is, and that he's his own person and not Aang's miracle child project, made a lot of sense given his growth over the episodes. Korra's development felt comparatively forced. On the bright side, I hope we finally get to see a more mature, collected Korra going forward. The way she walked away from Mako showed more maturity than anything she's done so far.

Sooo glad the love triangle nonsense was headed off early this time. Mako and Asami are a way more compatible couple. Not that Asami should realistically take him back given his behavior. Speaking of kicking her to the side, Bumi was like, nonexistent in that final fight. I know he doesn't have any powers, but I was disappointed he didn't get to do *anything* useful. That's a nitpick, tho'. :P

I felt this finale was, much like the rest of book two, uneven. Some high points, some lows, some WTF moments. On the bright side, it didn't come across as final as book one. Maybe we'll get to see a real continuation next year instead of getting a weird character development reboot. Also, more Varrick. There better be more Varrick, damn it.

Greeeat, the worst thing about the first season--the pointless and tedious love triangle--has been brought back for no apparent reason.
