@RedJohn - Books three and four have already been confirmed.

Thanks.

Also, as vaatu was "destroyed" while being linked to unalaq, there can be a posibility that a new "dark" avatar cycle starts from now?

I'm kind of surprised... 4 episodes in one day ? I don't understand the logic behind that. I am happy, sure, but usually things like that don't bode well for TV shows. And yes, I know that the finale was officialy made available earlier on the internet due to some twitter thing, but it's still worrying. Is Nick trying to make room for something new, even after they've ordered FOUR books of Legend of Korra ?

And my two cents.

Loved the artstyle in those episodes. Studio Mir at its finest, not once did I question the animation quality. I imagine it must have been hell for those poor Koreans to draw and animate all that, frame by frame.

The ending though, I mean. I don't really see how spirits and humans are supposed to live together, when the humans can't even live in peace with each other. And that's not even the biggest problem. We've been shown [in Wan episodes] that spirits are extremely dangerous and absorb negative energy [emotions and stuff] that surround them - it was bad 10,000 years ago, think about what will happen now, when there are millions of humans alive.

Not to mention that spirits are not bound by the physical laws and can basically do what they want. It seems that in their natural state they are docile and generally stay away from humans and when they don't... well, we all know. They go where they want and nothing can really stop them - hell, it's not all flying bunnies. I just hope we won't see something akin to Pokemon, where everyones adopts a spirit...

OH. MY. GOD.

Okay, so I'm really interested in Jinora's whole "spirit" aspect that she carries with her and what impact that will have in the future seasons and... and I'm really upset about the whole "cut off" with past Avatars, though Aang did this in “The Promise,” when Aang chooses to sever ties with Roku. He did so because he had outgrown his mentor; his ideas were no longer relevant to Aang’s life because he could not see past the biases his own time era had made him a product of. Basically, Roku’s ideas were less timeless, and so less useful to Aang. Still, it saddened Aang to let go. This whole relation to adding "growth" with Korra be separating her past makes no sense to me, personally.

Are we not going to see Aang anymore? Zuko? Toph? Bah, I love the finale and I hate certain parts, haha.

ps. Lin in season 2... never again and Tenzin's speech with Korra about who and what defines you was amazing and needed.

AND THE MUSIC

...You want a hug?

I'm excited for the next two seasons.

God, I hope not

Anyway, my thoughts on the finale:

There were some great moments and some very "Eh?  What now?" moments.  The giant energy being brawl was... Silly.  It didn't really bother me, but it was hard to take seriously.  I loved the Tenzin story arc.  That was great.  Eska and Desna...  The whole emotionless, rational drone thing can really get tiresome.  They don't break away from it enough to really keep the characters interesting.  They had a real chance to open up the characters a bit when Unalaq died, but nope, they don't care that their dad's dead...  WTH writers.  As for Jinora, I didn't mind her whole spirirt help with Korra thing.  She's uniquely sensitive to spirits, so why not?

On the whole, I liked the finale.  I'm curious if the next books will be about the fallout of keeping the gates open or if they'll just go on forward with unrelated main plots for the next books.

It wouldn't surprise me. Then again the way Vaatu was destroyed makes it dodgy. Korra used Unalaq's spirit pacifying technique which supposedly converts spiritual energy from negative to positive. Who knows if Vaatu can even come back after that. A being of pure chaos and darkness twisted into its polar opposite? I don't think we'll see him for several thousand years. Which effectively means we won't see him again. XD

On a side note, it just occurred to me Korra killed Unalaq without hesitation. That's refreshing. :P

OH. MY. GOD.

That, would either be fantastic or more likely totally show wrecking if they tried something like it.

But remember that the humans are much more established and have many more benders than they did 10,000 years ago.  They aren't about to be forced back to Lion Turtle cities.

Then again, it may be that most spirits like it in the Spirit World and don't bother.

Well she's not the first Avatar to kill :P

Aang was the only one we knew who hesitated to kill, plus Ruko with his Firelord friend

Isn't there two more episodes to go? Or did I miss something?

I'm at the point where Mr. Dark Mcjerkface has been released.

Whoops, the site I'm viewing the series on didn't have the last two episodes last night. Silly meh.

Well, Raava did say that Darkness and Light cannot exist without one another.  So he's around... Somewhere.

I think Raava is going to play a key role in the events of the coming seasons. It was just Unalaq's soul that was destroyed, if I understand it correctly. She couldn't destroy him no more than he could destroy her.

Yes, I expect he will return. Just not anytime in the near future or bonded to another human. Since Vaatu was soundly beaten he has no choice but to wait out 10,000 years of light. Suck it, Vaatu. :P

Seriously, this season took many plot elements from Mass Effect.

More specifically, Mass Effect 2.

Gonna write explanation in like 2 days.

I got very busy today and will again tomorrow, while at the moment I'm quite tired.

I'm not reading into that too much. Dark is such a vague title it could mean anything. I thought it might be tied to Vaatu before on the assumption he got to rampage through the world. Now it seems like a reach to me. I wouldn't be surprised if it was spirit related given they can freely roam now, but Vaatu doesn't need to have anything to do with it.

I'd probably prefer Vaatu over that. -.- I'm really, *really*, REALLY hoping he doesn't return 'cause it'll be the dumbest twist since Asami kissed Mako in The Sting. XD
