I'd go for any plot at this point so long as it improved on book two's many faults. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea where they could take it. I mean, any ideas I can think of seem highly unlikely because they're too political or social for this show. :P

I don't know if anything they do with a conventional villain can work now. This finale was about as epic as it gets, fighting wise.

I can see it now... book three, Ozai's Revenge! Ozai rises from the dead to mete vengeance upon the Avatar. He regains his firebending and finds the remnants of Vaatu--becoming a firebending dark avatar zombie GOD! Yeah... no. XD

If Book 2 achieved anything, it was that it made me realize how much of a better villain we got in Book 1. Amon was leagues better than what we got this season.

Way, waaay better. In hindsight, I feel he was underutilized. The ending was better too. I love a good tragic ending. My only nitpick with Amon was we never learned why he decided other benders needed to go.

None of book two's villains are memorable. Whee... a wicked spirit guru who is a jerkface just because, and an ancient evil who is pure evil, so no explanation needed. Yeah. -_- The only thing that made Vaatu interesting was his involvement in Wan's story, really. Wan's arc was such that its coolness rubbed off on everyone involved. XD

That is true, but I loved the whole spirit aspect that tied in at the end.  Regardless of how I feel about the first few episodes of season two, I say this is my favourite season out of everything so far.  The episodes since Wan's appearance just gave so much quality for me.

Also, The Track Team absolutely did an amazing job, their music has grown so much.

Does anyone else think Sokka had some chats with Bumi when he was younger because they're both non-benders?

What I do wonder, what they'll do with Varrick now?

I mean, guy escaped prison in same night he got into it. By accident, but still had plans of escape.
And he never was enemy of the Avatar and in fact proven a very useful ally, even when his true plans were revealed.

So yeah, wanna know what else they'll do with this magnificent bastard.

Agreed, I just wish they had made better use of his cause.  The whole anti-bender thing was an interesting point of criticism in the Avatar world but I suppose the team didn't want to get too political or something.

Anyway, I have no idea whatsoever where they might take it from here.  'Dark' and 'Light' are really vague even if they evoke Vaatu and Raava with the Finale fresh in our minds.  I'm curious to see the post-spirit gate opening world though.

Yeah, I didn't mention Varrick in my previous post for that reason. While I definitely wouldn't consider him noble, I don't think he was really a villain. I hope they find a way to include him later. He was by far my favorite character this season.

My guess is that he'll pop up periodically with schemes ranging from goofy to opportunistic throughout the next seasons, sometimes as main plot and others as pure comic relief.  I doubt he'll be having any more than the briefest stay in prison again.

I would laugh really hard if they end up making a scenario where Tenzin encounters a web-bender and spends the entire episode trying to chase him down.

Ok I just watched the entire finale...

Two questions:

1) What the hell did Jinora do to save Korra in the end?

2) What the hell is Korra thinking in allowing species that grows evil as it feeds on negative energy into the mortal world?

Other than that, it was a great finale for a "meh" season.

I really hope they never touch that romance triangle ever again.

When Raava was severed from Korra Jinora felt it in the spirit world. I'm assuming that when Raava was "killed" Jinora found the fragments of her in the Spirit World and then brought those fragments and implanted them within Vaatu.

Wow, I've missed like 4 episodes somehow. I got up to Jinora being trapped in the spirit world and Korra comes back, next thing I know I'm watching Vattu storming the city. What hell?

Amon was the best villain of both series. Because of him, I hope they explore the conlfict between benders and non-benders more.

Amon could easily have futher explored in 1-2 more seasons.

Pity the writers didn't know that they would have been able to write more.

Season 3 will be called Change rather than Dark, apparently.
