Season 3 will be called Change rather than Dark, apparently.
So they "changed" the title then.
I wonder why?
Vaatu always had a small part of Raava within her, just as Raava always had a small part of Vaatu within her. That's how they slowly regenerate after being killed. They are like yin and yang in that way.Eterna5 wrote...

1) What the hell did Jinora do to save Korra in the end?
When Raava was severed from Korra Jinora felt it in the spirit world. I'm assuming that when Raava was "killed" Jinora found the fragments of her in the Spirit World and then brought those fragments and implanted them within Vaatu.
Because the world is never going to learn how to coexist peacefully with the spirits if they never get the opportunity to try. Wan's solution was basically racial segregation on equal terms - two peoples can't stand each other, so put them in two different worlds where they can't bother one another. They're never going to learn to live together under those circumstances.Savber100 wrote...
2) What the hell is Korra thinking in allowing species that grows evil as it feeds on negative energy into the mortal world?
Season 3 and 4 were never going to be called "Dark" and "Light". Those titles were unfounded rumors by KT Chong 10 days ago.OdanUrr wrote...

Vaatu and his increasing power seemed to be the major catalyst in the creation of dark spirits. During Wan's lifetime, they only really started cropping up after Vaatu was separated from Raava and he started increasing in power. Even though Wan imprisoned him, he never really lost any of his power. He still outmatched Raava. With him gone and completely depowered for another 10,000 years, dark spirits should be much less common and much harder to create. It would take like, I don't know, a war or something for them to really become a threat again.Mesina2 wrote...

I'd still call too hasty decision.
I mean, little bit of warning would help before you release spirits that can turn bad, just for people around a spirit being angry over something even unrelated to them.
There should have been some time to prepare for that coexistence, due to serious dangers are able to happen even over trivial things.

Plus all that knowledge is lost too. Unless the writers are going on giving Raava a more active role in the series by providing info in place of the past avatars.

I swear that wouldn't have happened with Aang. Though to be fair he's a superior bender... and character. <runs away>

Seriously. She lost her bending. Lost her past lives. Unleashed Ravva for the first time since Wan. Lost her memory.
Couldn't even win the super mega spirit fight without help.

I think the point of that was largely that both she and Tenzin needed to find their own way of doing things instead of constantly trying to live up to the image of infallibility Aang and previous avatars presented to them.

However, we at least know what the turtle did. Korra was losing, then a random ball of goodness saves the day? What? I mean, Aang was at least taken out by a cheap shot. Korra loses almost every battle shes in when she faces the main antagonist. And finding yourself is cool, but you gotta question if it was worth it when you lose over 10,000 years of history and experiences, which past avatars have heavily relied upon and future avatars could've used, to get it.

TBF to Korra combatwise, she was cooped up in the South for most of her life with no mention of her being taught by fire, and earth bending masters. If there's a third season i'd like it if the writers address her lackluster bending skills, and her overreliance on the avatar state.
I could swear she used it against Eska, and Desna of all people?
