Does anyone have news on book 2's soundtrack or even ATLA's?

They need to get on with releasing ATLA's soundtrack but it's been almost 6 years. If they didn't release it when it ended releasing it so long after seems like a stretch.

Yeah, I'm also half-hoping they'll release ATLA on blu-ray at some point.

I'll just give you the short version: When they missed yet another opportunity to make an interesting villain (another avatar opposing Korra with half the nations backing him? Yes please!) and start a multi season arc (really seemed they were going to pull off an Empire Strikes Back up until the transformation) by resolving everything in stupid ways (let's just say everything that happens when the Dark Avatar turned out to be a kaiju shooting Reaper beams and don't even start with Deus Ex Jinora).

Which is a shame.

Mind you, in my headcanon of another/better story, Sokka would have been revealed as a catalyst for the creation of the equalists (in a 'my noble idea has been corrupted') and early mentor for Amon (before being tragically killed by a bender and helping put Amon on his path), Amon would have survived and escaped with his own powers locked by Korra, and Korra would have not regained all her powers (a consequence of spiritbending Amon) and instead gone on a spiritual journey/pilgrimage to reawaken them.

Which would have worked well as a lead-in to her visiting the water tribe in an attempt for healing and finding spiritual balance, gaining a spiritual mentor who is in balance with the darker side, and who ultimately takes it upon himself to become the Avatar that Korra can not.

Man, at some part I'm really going to have to write that all down. I'd make it darker and edgier, especially if I made some small parts of ATLA AU as well to justify the differences, but it would rock.

Interesting. I'm very curious to see where they go with this cluster bomb Korra has dropped on the world(s).

I mean... what's the worst that could happen?

My body is ready. But seriously, I'm impressed by the sheer number of new characters they are introducing.

More airbenders?, what?

Also, sparky sparky boom-girl!

Same. In large part due to how awful the book one dvds are. The "haloing" was so bad when I tried to encode them into mkvs for more convenient watching that I just gave up.

But will they phone it in at the end yet again?

Third time's the charm.

I've enjoyed every season of Avatar, but starting with Book 3: Fire, I can't say there's been an ending where they haven't introduced some contrived plot element.

Honestly, I think it's time I turn in my Avatar fancard. I loved the original show but LoK just has failed to live up to its legacy. Korra is, ultimately, just not a good character. And while there are some good ideas in LoK, the show consistently fails to live up to its promise ending up rehashing the same tired plotlines over and over with the characters learning nothing from it. So, I should probably just walk away...

Cut down on the romance BS and focus on making Korra actually likable (or switch to a better protagonist) and I'll check it out.

I mean, I liked Beginnings...but that's about it...

I love both series, but Season 1's ending seemed really rushed to me.

Season 2 was awesome, except for the love drama showing up again.

I really want to watch Season 3, but my brother refuses to watch past Season 1. He called the sudden deflation of the Equalist movement and Amon's death shitty writing. I'm willing to watch more, but he refuses. He's still mad that the causes of the Equalist movement magically disappeared along with its supporters and implications.

Yeah, I thought Book 2 might deal with the repercussions of the Equalist movement and was disappointed at how they waved the whole thing away. But I have hope for Book 3.
