Yeah, I thought Book 2 might deal with the repercussions of the Equalist movement and was disappointed at how they waved the whole thing away. But I have hope for Book 3.
Same here, but my brother is not the understanding type.

I really want to watch Season 3, but my brother refuses to watch past Season 1. He called the sudden deflation of the Equalist movement and Amon's death shitty writing. I'm willing to watch more, but he refuses. He's still mad that the causes of the Equalist movement magically disappeared along with its supporters and implications.
Well, your brother is right, it really was.
And it's not like Korra learned a thing; she stills abuses her power. Like when she threatened that non-bender judge because of a decision she didn't appreciate.
sorry, doublepost.

Watch it any way and drag him along kicking and screaming if that's what it takes.
I don't disagree the equalist disappearing is just bad. They should of shown up as at least some minor ways or even used. Finding out their leader was everything the were fighting against I imagine would disenfranchise a lot and decimate their numbers.
I think one problem with this series is that the seasons have shorter runs and have their own season arcs. Where the first show had arcs but they were carried over a longer seaon and between them making it richer.
But Tarrlok realizing both him and his brother had still become tools for their fathers revenge and deciding to end it is good writing.
Also as someone else said sparky sparky fire lady I hope we get a bit on why that is a thing and it looks like a lot more bender fighting then season 2 which is a good thing for me.
I did not see any Naga and that will ****** me off.

Looks like we're going to be seeing some consequences for Season 2's conclusion.

Lots of new characters too.
This I like.
Found this on Jeremy Zuckerman's twitter:

Howdy, friends. As you have likely already heard, four episodes from Book 3 were leaked this past weekend. It is bad enough that it happened at all, but it would have been a little less of a disaster had it at least been the first four episodes of the season. Instead, the third through the sixth episodes popped out online, causing confusion and, at least on our end of things, frustration. As you all know, these episodes take a ton of concerted effort from scores of individuals. We craft these continuous storylines and the animation as best we can, and hope that they are presented in a way that allows everyone to enjoy them to the fullest. But when leaks happen, the work we meticulously prepared for the audience is fumbled unceremoniously.
Nickelodeon is obviously a massive corporation with outlets all over the world. These outlets get the episodes in advance so they can translate and dub them for their markets. We typically deliver the episodes to the network quite close to their U.S. premieres, but in the case of Book 3, we have actually already finished the entire season as of last week. The network has some plans in the works for it and needs to wait on its release, so we have been keeping quiet while keeping our noses to the Book 4 grindstone. Unfortunately, the longer the episodes sit on all these shelves all over the world, the probability of leaks increases.
So, yeah… It is unfortunate it played out this way. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before Book 3 is released properly and with respect to all the people who worked hard to make it and to the audience who wants to watch it.

Oh, yeah, and Book 3's already finished as of last week! ![]()
*snip*
Yep and theres 2 videos regarding the new characters in youtube from what I saw it looks really interesting. Too bad I wans't able to see the episodes.
hmm so episode 3 and 4 are (or where when they remove them) on youtube. So far its looks way better than all of season 2.
Oh yeah I saw those videos on animegogo but chose not to watch them since I would have no idea what was going on.
So the Dai Li are returning, maybe continuing their role from the original show? Thought I saw atleast one of them in there. There was allot left hanging with them and the Earth kingdom.
These trailers look amazing.
It seems that there are a lot more benders (specifically air benders, which we got the impression was still a rare trait) in the world. Perhaps it is a result of the spirit world being merged with the physical? Or maybe the source of Amon's spirit bending where he was able to cut off the powers of benders has a source that has also learned how to instill bending powers in others?
If so, I can imagine that would have an "arm's race" effect, where more and more people may want to rush and become benders...? Which would be a source of much "Change" and fighting, which we see in the trailers.
Either way, this looks great and I am looking forward to it.

Well it has seemed (to me at least) there has been a good number of Airbenders shown. At least when they go to the other temple and it seems filled in season to. We don't really see a lot in the first season other the the immediate family but I would also assume Tizen as the son of Ange would have the largest group.
Which typing that has me confused. I don't see why the two worlds mixed would bring more benders about since it was shown the Turtlelions gave and could take bending but could it also be possible if one had bending that could be passed on so there are a lot of unknown out there?
But then you might be right that with the remixing (dub track plays) of the two worlds might make bending eaiser or more available. Seems like BUmi is Airbending in that trailer or he just discovered something.
Again thinking about it as I typed this out I was more excited for season 2 because I liked season 1. I have become more excited for the third season because of these trailers.
Well, I just am not sure who there could be more Airbenders in this season without something else going on. Aang was the last of them. The entire Air nation (not just be benders, but any "normals" who would had the genes recessively) were all killed when Sozin's comet first arrived. So Aang's kids (I would think) be the last air benders alive.
Now... could there be some way that other benders were born outside of Aang's family? Well, you'd think so... but during the 100 years of Aang being frozen, no other air benders were found. That's close to five generations of no air bending. You'd have to assume there would be a genetic component there, a component that was wiped out save Aang (and now his grand kids).
But here we see close to half a dozen different people doing things that look like air bending. So did they get this ability from somewhere else? If so, where? If not, why have we not seen other air benders until this season?
These are the things that wake me up in a cold sweat every night!
I'm pretty sure people will get bending powers thanks to the two worlds merging. Seems like I was right about them screwing up the status quo because they wanted to tell this story. So s1 standalone, 2-4 another story arc maybe? Who knows. Perharps they just make the awfulness of the ending of s2 bearable in retrospective.
Chances are good. Between fan feedback and the opportunities of handling more than the original season, the possibility likely has struck their mind. They've certainly had references to previous seasons or AtlA, but nothing huge. As far as genetic continuity, I got like no idea.So s1 standalone, 2-4 another story arc maybe? Who knows. Perharps they just make the awfulness of the ending of s2 bearable in retrospective.
Oh I'm sure plenty of bending was involved. Of course.Maybe Aang just cheated on Katara a lot while he was traveling around the world with Tenzin. You know ... for the preservation of airbending and stuff.

Again I am working off memory the nation was leveled but they had temples thru out the world. One even in the Fire nation before sparky sparky boom man blows it up.So they were not concentrated there and they are described as a nomadic tribe so they could easily exist\.
Mako and Bolin are brothers so maybe its not genetics maybe part of it maybe your personality plays a part in it.
Also Lave Bending is awesome!
And I also saw Naga so I will be watching it no matter what.
I cannot wait.... and I really doubt Aang would do that to Katara, but who knows. That would be a disaster for so many fans, lmao.
Like, look at dis -

And who is that green eyed girl Bolin was staring at around 49 seconds though... ideally. Waifustatus #bolingettingitin
