Well, regarding the lava rocks.... when you rubs rocks hard enough against each other they do become hot.

P.S I think its so clear that many fans dont like korra .Just look at book 1 premiere and book 2 premiere ratings .Twilight storyline is huge factor in this Korra doesn't have the same feeling as ATLA for me but still, I love watching it because its Avatar

I think that that's almost entirely attributable to Nick screwing the show around.

It had essentially no ramp-up marketing campaign anywhere. Two months ago, there were still rumblings that Book 2 wouldn't air until fall 2014 or spring 2015. The teaser trailer was released only a month in advance and there was uncertainty about when the premiere would air up to the last week before air date. In many TV markets, both digital and print listings showed that reruns of TMNT would be airing, not LOK. Some media outlets, like the AV Club, were aware of it and publicized it; others weren't. The upshot is that pretty much only die-hard fans were aware of the airing, and not even all of those.

Anecdote: I watched the premiere with a group of friends, but after the first episode I texted a few observations (including the "girlfriend" comment) to another Avatar fan who wasn't there at the time. He texted back a couple minutes later, shocked that the premiere was happening and mortified that he was missing it.

I wouldn't read too much about show quality into the premiere's numbers. There might be a bit of backlash over the fairly bizarre Book 2 ending, but I'd hazard a guess that 95% of that is just nobody having a clue about when the thing would air.

Ever since Book 3 of ATLA, I've been convinced that Nick has absolutely no idea what they're doing, messing with air dates (remember how they split Book 3 into two half-seasons and broke them up by several months?) and air times (Saturday morning slot for LOK? wtf?) and episode numbers (12 episodes, one season! 30 episodes, three seasons! 52 episodes, four seasons! make up your minds!). This is one of the network's most critically successful and popular franchises ever, and half the time it seems as though they're deliberately sabotaging it.

I said it before and I'll say it again: Nickelodeon made a mistake rushing its release of Book Three without an adequate marketing campaign. They gave us three episodes on a single day and they will now skip a week to give us another two. Don't come complaining to me about ratings if you didn't promote your product and can't even keep your schedule together.

Been watching the first couple episodes. Seems fairly on par with the rest of the series. As was said earlier, there's certainly set-ups for upcoming episodes that could turn out more intriguing than the previous ones. The humor wasn't bad. Tenzin is worst salesman.

Not to be a downer or anything, but it sounds more like she meant that she never had a female friend before who she could talk with and all. She did have male friends she could talk with (Tenzin).

Oh I totally know that. It's just that that's where my mind went immediately when I first saw the scene. Still it almost feels like the creators are intentionally teasing fans of that ship.

Ok. I thought Season 1 was just ok. But nothing special.

Season 2 I just didn't like at all. Beginnings were the only thing I liked from it.

 

I want to like this show, I really do. I love Last Airbender. So I'm giving Season 3 the fairest shake I can give something.

Not bad so far.

Kai acts about how I expected him too. So I don't like him.

 

But everyone else evens out. Bringing back Zuko and giving him a dragon to ride is awesome.

 

Though Tenzin really needs to work on his Air Nomads pitch. Or he'll have to update the teachings, not everyone wants to be a monk y'know.

Oh, it's changed. For the worse. Notice how the urbanized area apparently goes all the way up to the outer walls now? Yeah, that was almost all farmland back in ATLA. Now it's slums, factories, and smog.
