Toph was not only a sl*t and a bad mother, she was a horrible chief-of-police as well. She broke the laws to cover up her daughter's crime.
Toph was my favorite character from Avatar: The Last Airbender, but she grew up to be an awful human being all around.
lol There's nothing to suggest that Toph was a ****, just that she had two kids from two different fathers. Nope. Nothing slutty about that.

Overall, I am loving this season. I really enjoyed the new airbenders coming together near the end of the episode, brought a tear to this airbenderless soul. Ideally, Lin and her sister as well...

I said it before and I'll say it again: Nickelodeon made a mistake rushing its release of Book Three without an adequate marketing campaign. They gave us three episodes on a single day and they will now skip a week to give us another two. Don't come complaining to me about ratings if you didn't promote your product and can't even keep your schedule together.
So do they want to cancel the show due to low ratings and are just being coy about it?
The reason why Season 3 was abruptly premiered and slotted on a Friday in June was due to... Mexico.
Nickalodeon originally intended to reveal Season 3 at the San Diego's Comic-Con this year, then market the season, and premiere it in the fall during primetime. However, Nickelodeon's affiliate in Mexico, MundoNick, leaked four mid-season episodes while working to subtitle and dub them in Spanish. Nickalodeon, in an attempt to regain control of the situation, decided to immediately premiere the season in America. That is why this season premiered during a bad time slot without any marketing.

And Suyin didn't kill anyone. It's not as if she was a really dangerous criminal, though putting her behind bars could have potentially pushed her into becoming one. Toph wasn't an angel either during ATLA. Remember the scamming she did with Sokka's help in the fire nation?
I'd say Toph's decision makes sense, and it did turn out to be the right decision in Suyin's case.
My knowledge of Jim Gordon is that he wouldn't put his own daughter behind bars. At least not the iteration of Gordon I know from few of the comics.
Irregardless, I like this side of Toph because it shows how incredibly flawed she is like any other human being and it only grants her character more credibility as opposed to losing it.

I'd say that goes for most of the original cast's parenting.
I don't blame Toph for letting Su (Is it written Suyin or Su yin?) go, though I don't really blame Lin for being so angry about it either.
