Nick.com blocks Canada when it comes to watching episodes. So it's really just for the U.S. and whatever country Nick.com doesn't care enough about to block.

Yeah, you think Canada would have access, lame.  It will probably still be uploaded on certain anime "streaming" sites and such, hopefully.

How many episodes is this season anyway?

13 episodes, I believe.

And I have a pretty good site that I don't think is region locked. I'll post a link when the new episodes go up.

Sweet.  I've been watching the episodes through online sources as well, so I'll see if they're still uploading them as well.

Creators of The Legend of Korra Explain the Show's Not-Cancellation

Bryan Konietzko said...

So obviously there's been a big shakeup. We wanted to address that quickly but we don't want to take too much time because we're here to have fun and we have stuff you guys haven't seen yet. But pulling it off the channel and moving it to digital exclusively is part of the huge sea change in the whole industry. I'm sure you've seen articles about cable numbers and streaming and companies doing their own content and all sorts of stuff. So obviously we're in the middle of a huge change. And things have changed just for us since we did in Avatar in 2005-2008 and then when we came back in 2012. And when Book 1 of Korra came out it did pretty good on TV but its online presence was just insane. Not only the chatter from all the fans but the actual numbers in terms of digital downloads and streaming, it's just been huge. And as the show's gone along, by Book 2, the numbers in the digital streaming greatly outweighed the channel .

It's no secret that Avatar, especially Korra, is not typical Nickelodeon fare. And so they've had kind of a hard time fitting it into their programming. But basically the Book 2 finale, the numbers were insane when they streamed it, when it went on Nick.com. It was the biggest event they had that year. And that show, digital downloads for that season was amazing. And, as you've seen, not so much on the channel. So it's just part of this shift over.
It definitely caught us by surprise and it wasn't necessarily done in the smoothest way and that was upsetting to many of you and us as well.
So, we're moving over to digital. It's actually a plan that was in place earlier and it changed course and then went back in a bit of a messy way. But thanks for sticking with us.

Michael DiMartino added...

It won't effect what the show is or what stories we're telling. We've already written the scripts, we've finished all the pre-production, we're just doing post and Studio Mir is finishing the animation. Other than it not being on the Nickelodeon main channel nothing is changing. You get to see it, which is the important thing.

Concerning that last sentence about us getting to see it, the problem is a lot of us won't, particularly people overseas seeing as streaming sites such as Nick, Amazon, Hulu, Google or Xbox are all region-locked and, like I said before, some of them may even be locked to the U.S. exclusively. Perhaps someone could confirm whether or not they have successfully used any of the above services to watch Korra online outside of the U.S.? It's a pity they didn't thoroughly explain what streaming channels they're going to use for Korra. And I would be very interested in knowing what "the numbers in the digital streaming" are and how they're put together.

- It's a single player game
- It's intended to have three playthroughs
- The first playthrough takes around 4 hours and unlocks moves
- The second playthrough unlocks high level items
- The third playthrough ups the difficulty
- There is a probend mode where Korra, Mako, and Bolin bend against another team
- It releases during Fall 2014.

Just finished watching episode 8.  There is something that does not add up there.   I have feeling that Suyin (Lin's sister) may be in cohort with the Red Lotus.   She said something about her daughter Opal would led them into a new era, which sounded weird.  Su was the only one fully dresses when the fight broke out after Korra was kidnapped.  Why was she fully dressed?  Was she preparing to leave the city to meet up with someone after the kidnap?  Also, she said she's a changed person, but she went behind Lin's back and told Korra to leave the city and go after Aiwei, thereby putting Korra in danger.  That's the same kind of duplicitous behavior from her criminal years.

It seems to me her criminal past is not exactly behind her.

Gotta say, an absolutely amazing episode.

-Though brief, I liked watching the choreography of Korra's metal-bending training.

-Even better, the dual with the Red Lotus was pretty awesome. I appreciated that even the fodder metal benders were able to contribute something useful, which you don't see too often.

-The way that Varrick helped Mako figure out the real culprit behind the attack was absolutely hilarious.

And in other news, given that animation for Season 4 is almost finished, I wonder if we'll be seeing its release immediately after Book 3 finishes?

Damn! That looks pretty sweet. I might pick that up, Platinum games very rarely ever disappoint.

Yeah I haven't trusted Suyin since her first appearance and I still don't.  Hopefully that doesn't backfire on Korra.

Yeah, something does seem off.

Anyways, I once again loved the episode. The fight was excellent. Its also good to see that Bolin is becoming more useful during fights instead of just beign there to be the butt monkey and to make Mako look cool.

Also, Zaheer and co have become really exciting villains. I kinda like that we still don't know what they want.

I do hope Zuko shows up again and is the one that beats Zaheer. Seems more fitting for some reason :P

And ofcourse; Varrick <3 Can't get enough of that guy. He needs to appear more.

I do not think Zaheer and his gang want to kill Korra.  In episode 8, they had so many opportunities to kill Korra and they could have easily killed her if that was their goal.  They want her for another reason.

Indeed. I think Ming Hua could have easily killed her when she broke open that window.

Also, based on how Bolin commented on Ghazan's lava bending, I think he will learn lava bending instead of metalbendig.
