I agree. Its not really important to me whatsoever. It'd just be a little jarring not seeing main/side characters and random NPCs be blonde, lol.

Yeah, the explain this in Mass Effect: Revelation ( the first book ). Basically by the time we get to the 22 nd Century humanity most of earth's population would be more or less multi racial or of mixed decent and as such the Blonde Gene would have become recessive. Having said that, as other have pointed out there a quite a few blonde humans in the ME Universe, Captain Bailey is one and Kahlee Sanders ( the main character in the books ) is also one ( I think ).

My Canon Shepard's hair color is sort of a reddish brown. Its one of the very short styles, so its not really important.

As far as blondies, I had a blonde FemShep back in ME1. Didn't carry her over though.

Black hair looks best on manshep and red for femshep. The ME blonde is more like eye piercing sunshine yellow

Ah? I don't like the red hair one bit personaly. Looks really fake.

But yeah, blonde looks fake in this game too and that sucks. And yes Conrad and some police officers had blonde hair.

Back on my ME1 FemShep, I liked that. But that doesn't change the fact that it looked artificial.

I suppose that is true, at the very least I can admit that there is plenty of room for improvement, my current female Shepard is blonde and her roots look very, very dark and her blonde hair doesn't really look quite that right, it looks a bit pale or it isn't 'strking' enough.

Still, this ( my blonde female Shepard ) is the first time I have created a female Shepard and I hav ebeen more or less happy with her hair. My first one was a red head with the default hair style and I really did not like that, deleted her before I hit Horizon. On my second attempt at creating a female Shepard I went with black hair and the shoulder length hairstyle but once again I lost patience with the look and deleted the charcter before I coud beat the game with her. My current female Shepard is about to aquire the IFF and I am still pleased with the way she looks.

I can't wait to see what female Shepard looks like with the new engine and the new default hairdo.

I'll be checking that out too. But I don't play as female Shepard, I guess I am too used to male Shepard's voice that it sounds just "wrong" when female Shepard speaks. *shrug*

I'm almost always playing blonde male shepard, the hair looks bit silly, but I'm usualy more than happy with it. There just aren't enough blonde heroes in games.
