this has been on my mind ever since the pre order DLC has been announce. assuming that none of the pre order bonuses will effect the story, does it really bother so many people that they would not be able to get EVERY single piece of DLC? personally i can live without an armor piece, unless the armor piece is the key to saving the universe or something like that.

i really think its a bit ridiculous and a waste of money to purchase a second copy of the game in order to get all the dlc.

How do alternate appearance packs, and "big gun" DLC heavily impact the game?

As I've said in another thread on the subject, you're basically offered a choice of optional extra stuff. You can choose which offer you like best.
Also, many people don't get offered that choice (Gamestop, for example, doesn't have stores in Belgium, so I can't go there. The same is true for other stores and the Dr. Pepper stuff). Rather than moan about how baby doesn't get to have *everything*, I think people should learn to be happy with being offered a choice at all.

Not me. I care for major DLC - squadmates, new stories etc. If I can get a gun for free or next to nothing (like I got Pepper items), I will get it. If not, whatever. Sure I sometimes get jealous I don't have full collection, have moments of 'weakness' when I think "ohh only this one time those shiny guns for Mass Effect!". But then I remind myself this horse armor syndrome is the reason why the industry got to this point with quadrillion "junk" DLC is sold for 2/3/5 dollars and I'm good again.

Yeah, never actually paid for anything that didn't have story in it. Got the free stuff from the Cerberus Network, but that was about it.

I won't. I was lucky enough to get everything for ME2, but if I miss out on something, tough break for me.

Its just extras.

Finally, Some one else who understands it. None of the Pre-order is needed or so important that you should bother getting upset about it. I've never understood people who are upset because they weren't able to get all the pre-order DLC or who complain about having to go through hoops to get them. You don't need all of them and the companies don't expect you to. If you decide to do so,that is your choice and  I see no point in complaining about something you choose of your own free will to do.
As you can tell by reading my post, I'm more upset about people being upset about not being able to get all DLC. I've long learned the life lesson of not being able to get everything you want and am able to apply it to pre-order DLC.

There really aren't too many things less important in life than one more gun or an armor set for a video game, so no I would not be getting worked up. If they release it later and I have a surplus bw points balance maybe I'd grab it for kicks but if not, I don't sweat the small stuff.

I never really cared much for DLC.

I think I have all the DLC armor for ME2, but I never bother to use it anyway since there's no way to take off the helmets. Also, I can probably count the number of times I've fired the singularity projector thingy on one hand.

GameMania in Belgium (and the Netherlands) offers the same pre-order bonuses as Gamestop. I think GameMania only has stores in NL and Flanders so if you're in Wallonia you're out of luck.

BioWare's Day1 DLC usually sucks, because it is too powerful and makes the game boring (e.g. DA2).

Beware. If Chris Priestly or Stanley Woo saw this, they'd warn you not to feed my ego.

Unfortunately for them, its already been fed. /sinisterlaugh

I mean, I'll try to get every last little thing, but I'm not crazy about it.

You won't catch me buying codes off of ebay.

I'll play the KoA demo, I've got the Collector's Edition, I've preordered from Gamestop, and that's already giving me a ton of extra items.

There will be other items I can't get my royal hands on. Who knows, maybe one day I'll find a way. Maybe they'll be released on Xbox Live and I can buy them, maybe they'll be free downloads, maybe some generous forumites here will give me a code for free.

Hell, my friend Javier(yes, the mod javierabegazo) gave me the CE-Normandy Prop code that he was given early because he had ALREADY received a code for said prop even earlier than that.

I have many friends here. A long history on Bioware forums. You never know where generosity will come from, but it'll pop up from time to time(irony, Rarity is the Element of Generosity and is my current avatar).

And even if the items aren't released for purchase, or they aren't given for free, or someone doesn't give me a code just to be kind, I'll live.

I'm getting plenty of extra stuff already. Hell, for $80 and a demo, I've got 120% of a game I've anticipated since 2007 AND a taste of a brand new game I might just grow to love(referring to Kingdoms of Amalur here).

Regardless of getting every item or not, I win.

Thats all that matters.

from my point of view, selling individual weapons as a dlc is equivalent to a game like modernwarfare cutting out some of the weapons in their arsenal and reselling it to the players...its dumb. its less about the dlc and more about the bigger issue of content being cut to be resold to people who expected to buy the full game at retail.

My care meter for little items like armor and weapons is pretty low so I don't care if I don't have them. *Sits at door with shotgun waiting for care bears to come*

See, the thing is people differ in opinion- optimism vs. pessimism.

Some believe that items are being cut from the game to be sold later.

Others believe new items not previously existing were made to be sold as extras.

Neither can be proven right or wrong from where we're all sitting. We all know the devs will say it was the latter rather than the former, whether true or not. Some believe them, some don't.

Its the 95% vs. 105% argument. Are we getting more to add to the package, or are we getting less initially to get the rest later?

Seems this debate will never die.

Will I be upset without all the DLC? No because I will HAVE all the DLC.

But would I be upset if I were in a position where I could miss any of the DLC? Absolutely...you know it. My ME3 experience MUST be absolutely, flawlessly complete and obviously that is impossible without all content.

I probably would too but you see the thing is.....I've been a loyal follower of BioWare since the KotOR days way back in 2003 so I have preordered and bought the CEs of both ME1 and ME2 and have all promotional content for ME2 including the highly covetted Blackstorm heavy weapon.

I only plan on getting all the N7 Weapons/Armor.
As long as they dont come out with an N7 Heavy Weapon in the near future,
my OCD won't compel me to get anything else.

Well, sometimes I regret that I don;t have this black-hole-gun thingy, or terminus armor, but then I remember, that the armor comes with an unremovable helmet, and that youtube exists, and I'm k.

I own all the buyable DLC for ME2, and I dont regret it, because I spend my 'entertainment' money on that (the money that would go to waste anyway). Even the alt-appearance packs were ok, cause Miri looks less ridiculous in that DLC skin. Also, I didn't ever get the Garrus' need to wear damaged armor through all the game.

Sometimes I regret buying the firepower pack, cause it gives you too powerful weapons. And arrival, for being so dumb and... simply bad. So I guess you can have too many DLCs, not too few.

And as for ME3 DLCs, I'll be patient, and I'll try to read the fan feedback first. I don't want to use Revenant knowing, that I could take Widow and use Mattock as the AR.

Usually I don't buy that much DLC, and when I do it's extra missions or other things that actually adds to the story. However, I have bought everything except the second appearance and the heavy weapon+armor pack (playing on PS3) for ME2 just because I really liked the game and have played through it 6-7 times.

I have never really cared about pre order DLC since it's usually things that feels more like a bonus and not something that really adds to the game so the people who can't get it don't really care.

The only thing that really bothers me with the pre order items for ME3 is that it feels like the N7 AR should really be included in the CE, with the rest of the N7 weapons. Because of that it feels more like they're taking something away from me if I don't buy from gamestop instead of giving me a bonus if I do.
