Does not bother me in the slightest. Sure, on ME2 everything that I could get I did get (including the Appearance Packs) but anything I couldn't I couldn't, didn't really matter. That said, this time i'm actually getting the collector's edition, preordered from Game for the N7 Defender bonus and will probably checkout this demo coming out on the 17th too. There is absolutely no way i'm going to order through Origin as well though just to have a shotgun and that is not an issue for me at all.

this has been on my mind ever since the pre order DLC has been announce. assuming that none of the pre order bonuses will effect the story, does it really bother so many people that they would not be able to get EVERY single piece of DLC? personally i can live without an armor piece, unless the armor piece is the key to saving the universe or something like that.

i really think its a bit ridiculous and a waste of money to purchase a second copy of the game in order to get all the dlc.

They can just avoid being upset by buying the CE, its called saving money. Brillant concept really

It appears there'll be plenty of guns in the regular game, so I'm not that fussed about them. We'll see if the armour choice is also decent.

Depends to be honest on whether I actually want to use the item or not. I was kinda irritated by the blackhole gun not being available. Couldn't care less about the terminus or inferno armor in Mass Effect 2 though. I understand why they're doing it but it really sucks from a consumer perspective.

With LPPrince. I go to reasonable lengths to obtain the DLC stuff - I spent a solid hour getting a hold of the Dr. Pepper stuff despite living in the UK, for instance. But I won't be beating myself up for not obtaining certain bonuses. For one thing, it would appear some of the DLC is packaged with things like the ME action figures, for instance. I won't be buying those. I'll take the pre-order bonus I like and not lose sleep over what I don't have.

Seriöst? XD
Dags att avbeställa där jag beställt och beställa från dem istället. Tack för tipset! (Hoppas de har kvar)

EDIT: Also, skitbökigt att navigera sig på deras jävla sida. Hatar flash XD

Just play an Adept, and use Singularity. Same bloody thing, and you can use it more often.

The only DLC that i wanted and may not get is the N7 Valkyrie rifle, 'cause it'd match my N7 super awesome weapons of the CE. Also, the extra character, but my CE's already mine!
Wonder what other stry based DLCs will come out later on. Hoping for something big :D

The only ones that bothered me were ones packed in with the figurine. I don't mind being charged for extra content, but retailer specific dlc annoys the hell out of me, and the figurine one is like retailer specific turned to 11. Sounds like you have to pay over $100 just to get all the ingame content. I really hope they're just outfits or something and are available later to purchase as dlc.

In theory i´m gonna buy all the dlc for ME3 since I did the same for ME1 and ME2( Genesis doesn´t count because it´s a ****** poor substitute of ME1 for the PS3 crowd). But that depends of alot of factors.

Number one: variety of in-game equipment shipped with ME3
- If we are looking at Me2 level of variety in terms of guns and armors, dlc will be a necessity to me. I´m not asking for ME1 variety, but 5 or 6 models per weapon class would be greatly apreciated. But then again I´m getting the N7 edition on Game, having pre-ordered it last july, so N7 edition items and N7 warfare pack gear will come this way and ensure some more variety even if the game comes out with not that many weapons

Number two: how well the story dlc fits in the game.
-I enjoyed Human Revolution but didn´t buy "The Missing Link" because it didn´t fit the established canon. If Bioware pulls something like that, count me out, as much as I love everything they write.

Well, I'm usually obsessive enough and have enough time on my hands to grab all available dlc. But I do hate this bussiness model from the bottom of my heart.
I would have been fine with it, if these exclusive pre-order/promo items were timed exclusives, and they would release it all after a month or so. But for some unknown reason, they usually don't release this stuff, and you are left with two options. You can either go on Ebay and hope you find a reasonable deal or wait for X amount of time in hope they eventually do release it (no guarantee they will of course). And the worst thing is, most of these items are already included on the game disc itself, wich is evident from some of the dlc files for certain items. Those files are basically 128KB digital keys that unlock content alreay present on the disc (if they were not already present, the files would have been at least a couple of MB's in size). It's quite a disgusting bussiness practice, but that's not what bothers me most.
The most bothersome thing for me is, that I really have to go out of my way in order to get this stuff (usually buying the codes of Ebay). Why the hell am I officially denied these in-game items, just because I live in a country that doesn't have the X pre-order deal available, or I didn't buy the digital deluxe edition, etc...?
And it's not that I wan't these items just because I'm obsessive with collecting stuff (ok, maybe a little). After I play through the game 3-4 times to experience the different story paths/endings, it's all about experimenting with different classes, builds, party setups, weapons, armors, etc...And every extra piece of weaponry and armor adds to my list of options to experiment and toy around with. And being denied those options (aka useless unimportant items that add nothing to the story for most people on this board) really pisses me off. Until I find a reasonable deal on Ebay, then I'm only semi-pissed off about it.

I'll be pissed and will rant about how much I hate DLC. Then, when they all go on sale, I will buy them instantly and say "Suck it, losers".

I wouldn't mind having the shotgun from the origin pre order, but i'm getting my collectors edition from Gamestop and will not spend extra money for a shotgun i probably will end up not using. I mostly use Assault rifles on my soldier anyway.

I already have the CE preordered from Gamestop, but that was more about the fact that Gamestop will have a midnight release in my town than the extra Gamestop content. I'll only spend money on DLC for story missions or, if I have points to kill, extra weapons but thats it. Not gonna stress about not having any extra armor or costumes or whatnot.

Since I like this series so much, added with the fact that I didn't buy a collector's edition for the first two games, I figured that I might as well take a hit to the wallet and grab the N7 edition.

It's nice to get some extras in the bundle, but I'm not too worried about the pre-order items.

...On the other hand, those Dr. Pepper promotional items got my attention back when Mass Effect 2 came out and I had to grab a few codes (luckily they were re-usable online).

any dlc is appreciated. ^_^ if you don't like it, don't buy it. if you like it, buy it. but i don't see the point in getting onto people who like gun packs or appearance packs as well as the gameplay dlc. personally, i appreciate the expanding of the game after purchase, whether it be from what weapon i use, to what bonuses i get from my new armor, or what is around the next turn in the story (overlord, lotsb?).

i got this idea...i spend my money how i want. bam. genius!

How do alternate appearance packs, and "big gun" DLC heavily impact the game?

^

As I've said in another thread on the subject, you're basically offered a choice of optional extra stuff. You can choose which offer you like best.
Also, many people don't get offered that choice (Gamestop, for example, doesn't have stores in Belgium, so I can't go there. The same is true for other stores and the Dr. Pepper stuff). Rather than moan about how baby doesn't get to have *everything*, I think people should learn to be happy with being offered a choice at all.

Which brings me to my point:

I live in The Netherlands and DON'T get ANY of the pre-order stuff. Like Belgium, there is no Gamestop here, nor a Best Buy. And since I play on the Xbox360, the Origin-exclusive gun is also out of the question for me.

And THAT is why I hate store-exclusive DLC. I think that extra armor is really sweet, but I will never get it because we live in The Netherlands. :crying:

It makes me sad that you Americans and Canadians get all the awesome extra stuff to choose from, while we Dutchies get nothing. :crying:

I won't. I was lucky enough to get everything for ME2, but if I miss out on something, tough break for me.

Its just extras.
