Which brings me to my point:

I live in The Netherlands and DON'T get ANY of the pre-order stuff. Like Belgium, there is no Gamestop here, nor a Best Buy. And since I play on the Xbox360, the Origin-exclusive gun is also out of the question for me.

And THAT is why I hate store-exclusive DLC. I think that extra armor is really sweet, but I will never get it because we live in The Netherlands. :crying:

It makes me sad that you Americans and Canadians get all the awesome extra stuff to choose from, while we Dutchies get nothing. :crying:

Tell that to people when they get extra codes and I guarantee someone will be generous.

It appears most of the items (armor, weapons) are again just available through DLC and pre-order deals. So the game without all that stuff will probably feel like something is missing again. Speculation. But then there is the secret character and I'm sure there will be much more that has been cut from the game that will impact story.

this has been on my mind ever since the pre order DLC has been announce. assuming that none of the pre order bonuses will effect the story, does it really bother so many people that they would not be able to get EVERY single piece of DLC? personally i can live without an armor piece, unless the armor piece is the key to saving the universe or something like that.

i really think its a bit ridiculous and a waste of money to purchase a second copy of the game in order to get all the dlc.

well the collector's edition has a secret character which wont be avalable to anyone else.and the rest of the dlc is just weopens and armor isn't it?

Pretty sure it was confirmed on twitter that that secret character will actually be available to everyone else, but the weapons and appearance packs included in it wouldn't be (for the moment atleast).

I didn't bother with DLC for ME2 nor will I ever buy dlc for any game.
DLC is nothing but planned content taken out from the base game. If you think otherwise, well the joke's on you.

I would prefer not to have any DLC that doesn't affect the story but does affect gameplay (this mainly includes bonus weapons and items unless it's some kind of apparel that looks cool or item that addresses flawed game mechanics e. g. persuasion enhancers).

I generally think bioware DLC is just a cheap attempt at squeezing as much coin out of the consumer as possible tbh. Im all for paying for quality DLC, but its always been alarmingly poor.

I wont even touch it, learnt that lesson with DA and biowares new business model.

I care nothing for DLC that's not content DLC: missions, characters, that sort of thing. Appearance packs if Bioware's fashion sense makes my eyes bleed again, of course.

But guns and armor are simply nice extras. Good to have, but not worth paying extra or shopping around for just the right store to get.

The only way I be upset with DLCs is they cause bugs and glitches like the ones in DAII.

I do want every piece of DLC. I just don't like it when I don't really have a choice. For example, here in the Netherlands, I could finally pre-order the CE in november 2011. At that time, no pre-order item information was known. Now it turns out that the store I pre-ordered from, doesn't have the GameStop exclusive. I don't want to cancel my pre-order of the CE, as I might not be able to get it anywhere else.

Then there's the items for the action figures. I don't want to spend almost $200,00 for all 8 figures, just for the DLC. And it isn't exactly fair to those who've already bought series 1. Does BioWare really expect them to buy those again?

It would all be fine and dandy if they just offered all the bonus DLC on XBLA/PSN/Origin after a while, so everyone can buy them. Only then do I feel that I really have a choice in buying these items and for a fair price.

As long as I have access to all the story based dlc content, than I'm happy. I'm not too fuss about weapons and items or extra clothing, but I do like having choices but I won't buy a dlc just for them, they have to come with a meatier dlc.

my take on it is DLC guns and armor are better saved for your 2nd+ playthroughs. the barebones version of the game should be enough to have fun with, they wouldnt release a game that wouldnt fun by itself. i always try to make my 2nd+ playthroughs to be as different as possible in terms of decisions and the weapons im using.

and im getting the defender armor, valkyrie, and the argus from preorder bonuses and that should be enough of "day 1 dlc". then if theres any extra stuff then ill get them for my 2nd+ playthroughs

I'm not upset, but frustrated that I will be unable to get certain DLC. Mostly because I am limited in where I can even buy the game.

For example, the gamestop preorder DLC looks very nice, its actually something I have been asking for in ME for years now. (I.E. Heavier armor) Now I learn that I can get heavy armor... but only if I preorder from the company I can't get it from.

Its frustrating.

I'm only really bothered about the DLC squad member.
Otherwise, as soon as I get it, Revenant all day erry'day.

Beyond the Collector's edition stuff, all the rest isn't necessary. Even though I couldn't manage to order from Gamestop, I'm okay with not getting something. Even if I'm dying slowly inside.

I literally never used any of the preorder/DLC weapons/armor. I have all the Dr. Pepper stuff and the Amazon preorder stuff and I've never used it. The only stuff I've used is the Kasumi submachine gun and the suit from that DLC too.

Nah, the only DLC I care for are those concerning story, and not in-game weaponry. My heart goes out to those who are getting screwed over by pre order bonuses.

I know the feeling, lolz!

It's marketed very cleverly, like it's must have content when it's really something you don't need or wouldn't actually miss while you're playing.   The ME2 pre-order armors were nothing special, and they didn't even allow helmet toggle.

Most 360 gamers can STILL feel the sting when EA/Bioware gave PS3 gamers EVERYTHING for free.  It pretty much meant that the DLC was really worthless if they didn't feel that they had to put a price tag on it and that we 360 gamers were just too stupid to figure it out in time.

pre ordered to make sure where i get the game would have one for me release day, store specific DLC was a bonus, lots of excess giftcards made it so i nabbed the collectors edit....

otherwise, meh on appearance packs and extra guns......

i'm already on record as saying that any DLC that's released after i've fought the big fight with the reapers would really have to blow me away to get my cash....after all, once you've beat the reapers, shep's story is done, right?
