If I uninstall Kaedrin's but leave the characters that have Kaedrins' classes in my local vault, then the game crashes if I try to select a character when starting a new mod or campaign. Re-loading kaedrin's or removing the characters fixes this. I'm sure this has been reported since Kaedrin's has been out so long, but I looked in the documentation and didn't see it noted, so I thought I'd bring it up on the off chance it hadn't been addressed.

This has nothing to do with Kaedrin's in particular but more so that custom content behaviour. This is true for all custom content, any character made with custom feats/spells/classes etc... stemming from some custom 2da files that isn't there anymore will cause the same crashing behaviour.

This has always happened, I've experienced it a few times, but not with every K's character. I guess it only happens if you have a character with custom features, as dethia has pointed.

Right. It makes sense that it is happening. I have just never seen this spelled out. I think it should be spelled out for less experienced users who may become confused when their game suddenly starts crashing.

I've experienced this problem as well. However, I have sometimes experienced crashes when I've just brought up the character list with custom content characters in it (not even trying to load that character). I've taken to having lots of versions of my localvault folder depending on the CC it uses. It's pretty annoying, really.
I think the best alternative really is to have different MyDocs/NWN2 folders for different CC packages and launch them with the -home command. Pain's NeverLauncher should make managing this even easier. That way, your localvault should always match your override content.
The downside of this is that you might end up with lots of copies of the same haks or override content. I end up with many versions of the same hair & head packs, for example. It is a bit of a waste of space, which might be a concern for some.

Having blueprints in the toolset with no longer existing content is also going to cause these errors. ( specifically skills.2da with added rows which are not in vanilla game is how i usually see it. ) and then launching the toolset without that content being installed will cause the toolset to crash or show a lot of errors as well.
I asked skywing about the errors with the characters crashing when they use no longer existing custom content and he said it's actually way too complicated for him to deal with. The only real solution is when you use custom content keep it organized so you know which characters were used with it ( -home folder is a great way to do this ).
