Yes.
Mass Effect 2 won a lot of GOTY awards and Mass Effect 3 seems to be an upgrade on almost all fronts.
Mass Effect 3 vs BioShock Infinite vs GTA V
Vs Diablo 3 in the popularity contests. We already know which one would win that.

Plus after seeing the full "squad" all I could say was "Ugh, oh well"
Needless to say as a fan of the ME2 squad I feel a little left out.
Yeah, the current ME3 squad is one of the most underwhelming of the franchise. It's as though they went out of their way to put all of the most boring or disliked characters together (including the massively overrated ones that romance wierdos gush and swoon over). The only semi-interesting one of the bunch is Garrus and the unknown DLC character (who better make up for the rest with a stellar personality/story and
usefulness).
Liara: totally contrived and fake in almost every way, with a performance of naive innocence that belies her power and stature. She filled a biotic niche in the first game for those that really needed it, but was otherwise nothing special. I don't actually
really dislike her, but she's just nothing special at all to me and simply the male Shepard "doin the nasty with a space alien" option.
Ashley/Vega: stereotypical "marine" found in every FPS/TPS. Nothing new to see here.
Tali: Has a pretty cool backstory actually, and has a good voice actor. Beyond that though, being a displaced space Israelite with a gas mask doesn't make her the best character ever created like so many would try to get you to believe. The main reason most scream for her is just so that the mask can finally be removed. As a useful squad member she's always been one of the most useless next to Kaiden.
Kaiden: I liked his comments while in the elevator, but that's all he was good for. Maybe he will have enough of an ME2 Sentinel injection to not be a worthless teamate besides an early lift/decryption. He's still human though like the majority of the rest of the squad, and the lack of diversity doesn't help his cause. He's also just there for a female Shepard romance option by popular demand.
As for the actual topic question; who the hell knows unti they've actually played it? If it turns out even 90% as good as ME2 from a gameplay/replay value perspective with the epic/urgency factor of the first, then it definitely will be one of, if not the GOTY for me at least. We already know that the production values are much higher this time, and they were through the roof in the second compared to the first; so that's always a plus too.
