after fighting the Bear Spirit, Safiya levels.  However, I cannot level her up as she now has 525 skill points.  I cannot allot them all so I cannot complete the level up process. 

I have gone back to a previous save and started over but the same thing happened again.

is there  a way to change her skill points so I can level her up?

If not, I will start a new game and see if the problem reoccurs.

Very strange. Do you have anything installed in your override folder? Maybe an alternate Safiya blueprint or something that would affect classes?

Not that I am aware of. I just installed the program and was playing it. I will play through it again and see what happens this time.

the way it's supposed to work, i think, is that when leveling up you should *not* be able to move on from the Skills page if there's more than 5 pts. to carry over ...

Thank you, kevL. However, the game gave her 525 skill points so now I cannot level her up. Thats the question I have: How do I modify that number down? I know there is a debugmode but I cannot determine if there is a command to do that. Hence my original post.

looking through a list of console commands I can't see anything here that does 'on the fly' skill point adjustments

to me, It indicates a problem with the/your particular levelup-GUI & associated scripts ( which gets back to Kaldor's question about what Overrides you actually have if any ). You say you're just playing the game barebones, stock out of the box ... that indicates a problem with the Installation (Steam? DVDs? expansions?)

okay, with that in mind you could try to reset her levels in your current game (i've never done this but lots of others have). It goes something like this:

- write down Safiya's XP
- then enter debugmode in the console, like so ( control Safiya and have no target )

DebugMode 1

dm_giveXP -<SafXP>
dm_giveXP <SafXP>

DebugMode 0
`

- where <SafXP> is Safiya's XP. Notice the first one is negative, this should reduce Safiya to level 1 and you can relevel her.

Question. Are you saying that Safiya is at level 21 for example and everything is fine. Then when she levels to 22 *BAM* the game gives her 525 skillpoints? o_O

Yes. That is what I am saying. She levels up and now the game gives her 525 skill points. I went back to an earlier save and played through and got the same thing. I am starting a new game and seeing if the same thing will happen again. I will try the XP thing in a bit and see where that gets me.   Thanks for all your help.

Sorry to thread necro. But my Safiya just levelled up at the same spot and spontaneously lost "Empower Spell" and gained "Improved Empower Spell"......weird woman!
