It's hard enough to pull off a non-tacky love scene or showing a bond between two lovers in a movie with real actors and world class directors. More games do them awful than those that do them well and I'd argue only a handful of games have really nailed romance / relationship scenes.

The movie watching scene between Jackie and Jenny in The Darkness is still better than just about every other game out there.

I more or less asked the same question. He opens up his OP with how tasteless and tacky Miranda and Jacob love scenes are. Then never says what he would of found more tasteful and less tacky. So you basically have no idea what he expected from the Miranda and Jacob love scene. Only thing he points out is how much he hated the hip grinding and her whispering in his ear. I have not read this thread but wanted to voice my input.

I hope the dialogue is better then some of what was present in ME2. (I was actually a bit traumatized by Femshep and Jacob "the priize" Tyler). I also hope that the LIs does not come across as broken things that needs to be completed by Shepard.

It would have been nice with more tasteful nudity. (but its not going to happen since some people are afraid of skin, scales or whatever) It seems we always get rather tasteless nudity (witcher 2 was a bit too sexist in its stereotypical way for my taste) or no nudity at all.

Leave it to BSN to support bad writing and poor cinematography. It's like a committee of underage boys put it together. ME1 scenes were better and I wouldn't mind going back to that style. I don't need to see Ashley/Liara's/Shepard's plump ass again if the problem is nudity. Just focus on that suggestive element. In Mass Effect 1, the sex scene also revealed more about the character before they did the deed. In ME2 it's straight to sexing.

It's hard to watch it because it's cheesy and the animation is stiff.

Why not just make it like real sex? Five minutes, socks on, very awkward, and then trying to figure out how to thank and appolgize to someone at the same time.

I kinda agree. ME2's love scenes were awful. I always thought ME1's were tasteful and artsy, ME2's were dumbed down and ultimately were not romantic imo.

I think it'd be nice if there was more interaction between the characters sometimes. For example a scene where you and your LI are kidding around under the covers would be cool.

I agree with the sentiment, but while the ME1 scenes were more tasteful (for the most part, some of them were rather sweet in ME2) they were also generic for everyone and not LI specific.

Although in my personal opinion miranda's LI scenes kinda made shep sound like a creeper at best.

Agreed, sort of.  I thought that the love scenes in DA2 were just kind of weird, but the romance did feel real.  I did however love everything about the ME1 love scenes and I enjoyed three of the ME2 ones (Garrus, Tali, Jack), the others seemed really forced, but maybe that's because I didn't really care for Mirranda, Thane, or Jacob (actually I hated Jacob).

Over exaggeration. The sex scenes are almost as long as ME1 and they usually fade to black rather quickly. If you think this is actual animated porn then you haven't been on the internet too long or even watched much TV. This is barely R rated movie material. 

Bioware has been doing romance in many of their games. The sex scenes aren't needed just like how romances aren't needed but are their to show where their relationship has culminated in. Its there because it is part of the romance. It isn't porn and to call it porn is just stupid (sorry) sometimes its corny and cheesy to most people but then again if it is so unimportant then why bother watching the 30 seconds of hugging, kissing and maybe some grinding then fade to black? Just skip it if is so unimportant to you.

If it offends you then the only thing we at BSN are going to say to you is deal with it.

I don't even think it's R rated.  There is no nudity, and most of them don't contain profanity.

They're hardly PG-13. ME1 was somewhat closer to R, but still incredibly tame.

It might have been incredibly tame, but it was still beautiful.  Everything about thos scenes worked, though it would have worked better with ME2/ME3 level graphics.

Maybe because you're not the only person on planet earth and what you are saying is an unpopular sentiment. Maybe, just maybe. It's much easier for the few people who don't like the romance scenes to skip or avoid them then for the massive amount of ME fans that do to not have the option to even have them at all.

Only Sex Scene I saw was Maleshep with Tali, and nothing seemed wrong with that.

Mostly, I play Femshep, and she remains loyal to Kaidan, so no humping for her!

Maybe, just maybe, I might try Ash out......  (I liked that message from her sister that said Kaidan was "cute", and her statements were nice "Scuttlebutt says he's sweet on someone else.")

And slightly Off-Topic, but there are mods for DA:O that make the sex scenes rather nice.  Unlike Mass Effect, which doesn't formally allow modding.

I must admit. My first post must have some sort of hidden meaning I am unable to detect. Why does everyone think that my post is about how vulgar the scenes are? I don't find them vulgar at all. nor do I think it's porn.

"Pixel porn" line was just a joke. it's obviously not porn and I don't think anyone honestly gets off to that sort of thing. However, I do think that the scenes are badly done. They don't have to be completely nude, or fade to black to be done well. Or artfully. I think Bioware needs to rely on suggestive telling for those scenes instead of showing us everything. When I watch the Miranda Sex scene, I do not think it's the relationship being culiminated. I think it's the fanservice. The Developers slapped together a sex scene so some little teenage wanker can get off. I don't find it particularly well done. 

Finally, what is with this "just ignore it". I thought this was a forum, where we discuss topics and ideas. If this topic bothers you. then YOU just ignore it.

You obviously haven't heard of rule 34, or that guy who was arrested in the Hotwheels section of a Walmart.

I know whats going to happen at the end, she's going to grind on his pelvic bone in engineering and It's really hard to watch. Do people actually enjoy watching this?
