I've recently (re)installed the module Islander, which has a custom UI, and I'm having some troubles with the small portraits not showing in conversation boxes.

This is how it should look

And this is how it looks in my game

I had this problem the first time I played, but I used the Warlock Buddy then and I figured that was the problem. I emailed the author at that time and he mentioned the override or UI folders as the probably causes (I've emailed him again, but no response yet, and he probably won't know what else it could be). I have a clean install now, but the bug still persists.

Any idea?

Edit: No bug after all, it's all explained on a post below.

I would start by identifying which XML file that screen uses. Take a look at the XML files in the UI or hak provided by this module. Then we can figure out whether that file has some issues that need fixing.

I don't know how those work myself, I'll tell you the names of the files I can see.

XML files in the UI folder:

Custom subfolder: Partychat and quickchat.

MTT UI subfolder (inside custom): bth_debug, bth_despawn, bth_menu01, bth_modreload, bth_taginput, bth_teleport, bth_toolkit.

Thanks for the help. If someone can/wants to check those files, the link to the module download is in the first post.

Also, has anyone else experienced this when playing Islander?

I've been told that the problem is in either quickchat or partychat. Renaming the former changes the conversation box to the a normal one. I don't see any change when renaming the latter.

Well, I thought that I was having the same problem I had in my first playthrough, but it looks like those party conversations aren't available until you reach a certain part of the story. So it's all good after all, I've tested it, doing a couple more quests and the portraits are showing correctly now.

Sorry for the inconvenience, if someone else finds that those portraits aren't showing, try doing a few more quests, up until you need conversation skills. That's when the party conversation becomes available.
