 Hello there,
yesterday i bought 800 bioware points for a MA2 DLC and my question is about the taxes I payed.

So first I add a credit card that had only 7€ and the purchased could not be completed, so I generated another credit card with an larger amount and the purchased went fine. But I wasn't expecting 1€ taxes fron each card, and I was informed by my bank that this amount of money(2€, 1€ each try) will not be repayed.

So, this tax is always charged regardless the purchase is or not confirmed as valid?

It's about time they drop this silly system and start charging the actual worth of DLCs; at least the taxes would be specific to an exact product and not to wasteful points.

As soon as I realised it I can asure you I won't spend more money in this, it's so ridiculous!
Never had issues buying DLC's from steam, never payed taxes, so WTH? Why can't we buy it on steam? And FYI Bioware(or EA), I won't buy Mass Effect 3 until you release it on steam! booya

I have been charged for the same amount while trying to do my first order - and before having confirmed my details even. There could have been a mistake in my payment options or billing adress for all they knew. If it's a tax (a tax for what? prices are supposed to include VAT) then why I can't find any reference to it, and why doesn't it happen AFTER a successful transation?

Apparently my order didn't even go through, I've been charged for nothing.


Edit: after speaking with the EA support I've been informed the 1€ was an authorization charge, I should have it refounded in a few days, and I shouldn't attempt further purchases until then. Still, I wish I had been informed during the order process, instead of being left to wonder what happened.

 Just curious, Mastaferry, since it looks like your issue is different: have you ever bought anything from the Bioware store before, without being charged the extra 1€ per transation?

No I haven't it's my first purchased. But Avogadro7 I just checked my bank account and the 2€ were actually refounded so I guess everything went fine
