Sorry for the delayed reply. Just to be clear, I'm not an employee of

I fixed that one for you, sea scorpion. Happy New Year! ;)

Oh, yes Origin and ME3 (just to be on topic). My concise opinion: MEH!

Yet to hear why origins should be mandatory.

I never said it should be mandatory, I said I do not mind it coming with ME3. I never said it shouldn't be mandatory either. In fact I have said nothing about it other than I do not mind using it and explained why. I already have it installed so the copy in ME3 won't end up being needed.

Oh don't give me that. If you have no chips in this fight then why are you so vehemently defending origins? You aren't just tweedling your thumbs about it. You are posting in here actively about HOW "GREAT" origins is. So please spare me.

If you have no opinion on it either way, you shouldn't even be here.

So stop dodging the question. Do you think it should be mandatory?

Your fantasy knows no ends, sorry if you think by me saying I have had no problems with it, explaining what I have had (experienced) with the client is me posting about  "HOW GREAT origins is" you are very much incorrect.

Did it ever cross you little mind that on a subject involving a piece of software that someone has experience using and used before is something that could be something someone would like to take part in?

Get over yourself seriously now. This is NOT a thread for only those who HATE Origin or HATE Origin+ME3. This is a thread about information pertaining to Origin and ME3 not your little playground of rage. It contains information for customers whether pro or against Origin so stop treating it like people who do not hate Origin have no right to read and listen and debate about what each and everyone will be receiving.

On your last question I do not mind if comes with or without, would it be better if was optional sure. But I am not going to join your crusade for privacy even if I do not and HAVE not been trying to destroy it either. In fact supported those who are less arrogant than yourself by wishing them luck in getting and Opt Out and Opt In for those people. The first sentence in this paragraph explains why I have never brought up if should or should not come with and why haven't replied to anyone talking about that specific aspect alone. if they talk about multiple apects and one is of interest not related to that then I have taken an interest and tried to discuss.

Question 2: How hard will it be to transfer character info from a steam version of mass effect 2 to the new game? Simply a matter of moving files, yes?

I think this was answered on the previous thread. Since the save games are on your hard drive it's just a matter of moving them or telling the game where to find them.

As in what I believe you meant when said "their store" to mean Origins store, what I mean't was high street store. Few months later the game disc broke and she couldn not play it anymore, the store would not refund or take back for two reasons. First being when sold was not damaged and second being too long had expired. It was an EA title so I informed her Origin allows if register your retail copy, have access to a free download version.

So the same company that screwed her over before, did the right thing with origins.. and this is commendable how?

Sorry but your not making any sense and going way off what I said now.

She did not buy the game from EA store, her game did not break because EA send out bad copies. She broke it, the high street store would not allow exchange or refund because they sold it fully working and too much time had passed. Origin alowed her to resolve it and have another copy for free. Prior to her disc breaking she had never used Origin. How do you figure she was "screwed by EA" before?

You're confusing me. She bought a game from a retail store like Gamestop or Best buy. She broke it a few months later, they wouldn't reimburse her. so she activated it on Origins and got to download it again.

I'm not seeing the commendable part. Most companies do that. Hell, if you have a faulty code, they'd send you another one. Just being able to redownload something you already purchased isn't all that noble.

I never said EA were being noble, you said that. I said they fixed her problem which they did. They were ones went to resolve issue at and picking them was just the quickest solution late at night few clicks on the internet rather than waiting till morning. After which she had an account, I had an account we talk on it. I don't see why you find this so offensive or objectionable worthy of constantly trying to bicker over it.

Question that might have been answered
before, and if so i apologize for missing it: Is it possible to get the
game from a physical store, use origin to install, uninstall origin and
then play normally? I know that you need it for multiplayer, but if I
plan on thumbing my nose at that little option, can I play origin free?

No. Every PC copy of ME3 will require Origin to be installed in order to run. If you uninstall Origin, your game will not run until such time as you reinstall it.

Dude you've posted in almost every page since it's blasted beginining. If all you had to say is "no problems" "no spyware" You would not still be here.

What is this babble? I honestly can't understand this sentence.

What information are you giving every freaking page? We get it. You have no problems with it. Why do you remain on this thread if you don't care one way or the other. I am fine with you defending origins but don't tell me you aren't. You clearly are on their side, you've made that abundantly clear. I'm not sure why you keep pretending like you're just some passerby with an opinion to give. YOU ARE ON THEIR SIDE. STOP PRETENDING.

Okay if it doesn't bother you one way or the other. step aside. Let us 'wage' are war for privacy then. Don't stand there as an opposition if it doesn't effect you in anyway.  Your support for others in our crusade is meaningless if you continue to stand there and assualt our side. You can't have it both ways. If you are really 'neutral'. GET OUT THE WAYYYY. If you aren't. say as much, stop pretending.

As of right now after this believe me you won't have to worry about such as you will be ignored since your vendetta where anyone who does not side with you, to you has no right in a thread created to pass information about Origins and ME3 onto customers. This is not your playground of war this is a information thread where some people just happen to be using for venting some frustration at same time. You are however taking it way to far by demanding anyone who isn't with you should leave because for you this is 'war'.

You do not need to apologise for that. I honestly do hope can find out why your Origins doesn't wish to work though. May I ask are you using the lastest version of the client? If you have already stated such then sorry I missed it.

Edit: My working version as demonstrated earlier in screenshot is version "8.4.1.210 - 132428".

Listen. I don't know what you aren't understanding about my argument. You are pretending like you aren't on a side. I simply said, if you aren't on a side you wouldn't be here on every page. You then went into hysterics. Honestly "Vendetta" is the word you want to use to describe this engagement? Hilarious.  I am not attacking you, I'm only asking you a simple question.

I will repeat: If you don't care whether it's mandatory or not, why do you keep defending origins?

Well, I think I need to apologize, since my words may cause some confusion among "forumites". That's least honest thing I should do.

I don't remember mentioning updates, but knowing how Origin "self-aware"Posted Image... Well, yes, my Origin seems to be newest - it has been updated several days ago.

Don't worry I will not be continuing to bicker with him and will be ignoring him so there won't be any conflict between me and him (I think as can only speak for myself).

I do however feel it is right to apologise that I got caught up in a slanging match (in what I consider a general ME3+Origin information thread) because of the negative impact has on those who also just wish to just gain information rather than witness some childish argument of which I admit I am partly to blame.

Genuine question, just curiosity. If your version can be gotten to work like demonstrated by me and I think one other person mentioned worked for them too (not sure who was) will you be buying ME3. Or was you going to be buying to begin with?

Ok, but why implement this measure? I don't understand why it's necessary. I'm sure ME3 can run fine without Origin in the background, especially in single player and without any internet connection. So why force players to have Origin run in the background?
