ol the whole saying "steam requires company interactions restriction" like its a bad thing is hilarious. The restriction is that steam has the control to drop the price and content whenever they want, like those huge deals where you can buy whole games for $5, and theyre back to $30 the next day, EA is just not willing to miss a couple bucks on a few purchases, the whole sale thing is a huge benefit, because it gets friends to reccomend it, and those friends pay full price, EA is letting a dime get in the way of a dollar.

@ Rockworm, origin is annoying

I posted about isolating Origin and am discussing why doing so is against the site rules with Bioware. Now, what have you done?

Searched for real solutions.

No, you havent. You have done nothing except whine and moan about how nobody is doing anything, when we have been searching for ways to limit Origin's access to our personal data, or there are any other ways to get ME3 installed without Origin spyibng on us.

The only "real" solution at this time, apart from what we have already started looking into, is for you to go along, buy out EA, and force them to stop what they are doing. So, why havent you done that yet? Oh, thats right, because your too busy moaning about how nobody is doing anything.

give me 3 solutions to combat Origin.

YOU give me 3 solutions to combat Origin first.

So as in, not buy ME3, sandbox ME3, and both. Thats two things that you did not come up with. Congratulations.

Can someone actually point out where using a legitimate copy of Windows 7 on a MS Virtual-PC is against the the rules of Origin?

I have several backups of the same Virtual HDD (it is a blank slate) that I use for testing, but I want to know that I'm not actually breaking any rules by using it to play ME3 legitimately.

Have you even bothered reading this, and the previous thread. I have spoken about sandboxing, VM's, voting with your wallet, and "that which shall not be named". Theres 4.

Lets see what you have done. Whinged. Whined. Moaned. Linked to a poll. Thats 4, but 4 what is another question. Certainly not ways of dealnig with the bloated spyware issue, thats for sure.

The next step is how to implement these solutions:

1) The Boycott: Spread the word to various social connections then simply stop buying any games for the necessary amount of time until Origin is dropped.
2) The Sandbox: Spread knowledge that such a tool exists and deliver it to the masses particularly on websites with a videogamer heavy audience
3)The combination: Make current Origin users aware of their options if they dislike Origin.

Hello EA. I'm that one copy of Battlefield 3 you didn't sell. I'm that one subscription you didn't get for SWTOR. And by the looks of things, I'm going to be that one missed sale for ME3 as well.

I will not buy a game that forces me into installing Origin. I will not buy it on a console platform to get around it. I will not buy it. You will not get my money. These are good games that I can afford and I would love to play but I am not buying them and it is YOUR FAULT.

Here's a thought.
Crazy I know but how about these people make accounts and speak for themselves instead of having you copy and paste them like robots?

One of the contributors to this thread was banned by a certain mod who claimed that sandboxing software was actually used to circumvent copyright. I am hoping this was more along the lines of a misunderstanding by an overzealous mod who didnt understand the concept of running software inside a sandboxed environment, rather than EA not only insisting that Origin be installed on your PC, but also that it must have free and unfettered access to all of your software, hardware, and any other resources.

Why am I quoted in this?

You have identified nothing, and come up with nothting. You have done the classic "Steve Jobs". Take someone else ideas, reword it slightly, and then claim it as your own.
