Also just reminder still awaiting information on whether ME3 still retains the ingame log in or just now 100% handled by a Origin log in? Status on whether DLC through Origin is region locked would be nice too.

My main concern is the banning bit. If we get banned from the forum will we be locked out of Origin?

BTW, I have a great Japanese porn collection if Origin wants it.

No, it is only mining for unique homemade media....(or so I have heard)

With any luck, its an insider. Otherwise, just a troll, liar believing his/her own lies or a crazy hacker.

Clearly, he was answering direct questions and providing clarifications for people who were confused.  How could someone with those characteristics work for EA?

So back to the point that was never addressed yesterday by mods.  Why do you and Stanley insist sandboxing is circumventing Origin...when it clearly doesn't do that. 3 minutes looking it up will tell anyone that.

AND? Even developers use imgur - imagine that. And how do you explain his "developer" status?! - oh wait ...

Your IP and MAC address by itself contain no personal information, They

I respect that you're here helping us out, but I have to disagree with you here.

IP  addresses and MAC addresses are definitely personal information, as both can be easily used to identify an individual, especially a MAC  address.

This information really should not be logged at all.  I get that it might be needed for part of the DRM authentication, but said information should be purged beyond recovery once authentication is successful.

I would say it this way. Your IP and MAC address it self doesn't fully identify person. How ever, they can be used to track person down, what does indentify the person behind of these addresses. It's not fully accurate, but accurate enough. Also because even dynamic IP-addresses doesn't change so often, it can be used to follow persons behavior pattern.  Point, what does it matter if person is named or numbered, it's still induvidual person.

I'm aware of the specifics.  If you wish to link an IP address to a person, it is not difficult to accomplish.

For this reason, Origin should not log such data any longer than necessary to complete it's DRM validation.  The address should be purged after that's done.

What an epic-level clusterf*ck. Bioware and EA could give governments lessons in poor communication and coordination.

Then maybe EA should hire him, because he makes a lot more sense than anything EA could come up with. ;-)

At the very least he made a very good example at what good PR should look like, even if what he claims is untrue his methods would be effective. Instead we are faced with a severe lack of information or maybe even misinformation.

Edit: It also seems dmex challenges Chris' claim on the EA forum. Maybe EA should start getting it's information straight. ;-)

Seriously though, waiting (maybe not so) patiently for more information to be authorized for public release by powers that be... all the while pondering that age old question - to buy or not to buy?

5) Is there an opt in or opt out clause for data collection?
Users will be allowed to opt-out of Mass Effect 3 data collection from inside the game.

Would it be possible to get some official clarity on this one please?

Right now that reads like you can opt-out of ME game data collection as you could with previous games, but that there is no option to opt out of Origin data collection - which is another kettle of fish entirely, and a pretty smelly one at that.

Moar Questions! (sorry Chris)
Will future DLC and patches be available through the BSN site like the ones for ME2 or will they only be available via Origin?

Thank you & have a good weekend
(p.s. if you've already responded to either of these and I've missed it - sorry!)

Be aware, the data collection of ME3 should be the same as ME2, used later for statistic, this is not the contreversial collected data from the Origin client.
