Well, she can help the crew aboard the ship with physical tasks or help Shepard on the ground in more ways than just giving him/her information. They can send the body on a dangerous mission without risking anyone's life.

She can also experience different environments and situations firsthand, which I'd imagine that an AI would be pretty curious about.

Just to mention a few.

It's funny how it suddenly a bad thing when this particular AI wants to expand her views, but when the Reapers, geth and that AI on the Citadel tries to do it, it's an acceptable part of the "lore" or some crap like that.

And 'she' needs a female body for that? It could not just be a practical robot?

Once again I have to say Joker-service, If the romance option is there I wouldn't take it... what about the three or so guys that seem to have an issue with it even though I personally think this is a good direction, would you romance EDI if the option was there and cut Joker out of the loop? - he'd probably crash the Normandy into a star with everyone on board though

my question about edi is would the alliance take her away from the Normandy to try to get any information from Cerberus that was blocked thru out the missions and take her apart due there hatred for ai's

Why is that necessary and how does it help anyone? Buildin a specia lfembot body sjut becasue the AI is "curiois" is redicolous.
And how would it's experience be that much different from any other robot body?

The only logical reasoning behind putting EDI in a body - is so she can experience things herself that she wishes too as her intelligence and curiosity expands.


In which case they a concrete and steel filled box with arms and legs would suffice, and also be able to carry a host of explosive ranged ordnance in case she needs to defend herself.

According to other sources - her body is now semxy android in nature - and it gets cosey with Joker.

ya if this is the route they decided to take with EDI then why not just cure Joker and have him magically become a vanguard and be one of the main characters we interact with I mean really.... I'm all for expanding character lore and adding depth to them but if they wanted to give her a body they should have just worked in a side mission where Legion built her a geth mobile platform or something god knows the two of them would have talked about getting her out of the ship sometime.

Yeah. I vastly preferred her as a counterpoint to the Reapers. A starship that wasn't genocidal or superior.

The whole becoming close to human and learning how to feel act could've been done by Legion.

Indeed. I say a sentient starship is cool. Yet another sexy humanoid NPC - not so much. As for the....attraction: I need brain bleach.

Do I really have to explain the benefits of sending in a remote-controlled body into a dangerous zone which could very easily harm people? Because I thought that was pretty clear with the whole "without risking anyone's life" part.

And what do you know, her having a body can actually benefit both her and other people for reasons I have already explained.

I think the whole "uploading millions of cojoined organic minds into machine bodies" thing was kind of a clear giveaway on that one.

And you keep saying that everything is a bad idea, so I'm just starting to ignore you whenever you say that and tries to state it as fact based on very, very little things. Which is incredibly often.
