Hey guys, don't panic if you look in this forum and don't see your post in here.

I'm starting to try to move posts that are clearly belonging in one of the new sub-forums into that forum.

So if you don't see your post here, it's probably because I've moved it.

I was wondering when you where going to do that :)

It also needs doing the games normal chat forums, theres so many spoilers in chat its stupid.

Btw i saw a question by a user that did not know where he should post his 3 questions and it occured to me the new system might create a bit of a problem.

Just a weeee weee little one.

Suppose a person asks about quests, level editing and NPCS, he will have to decide a question about the mod he is working on over several forums. I am speaking from experience here since I am a quest maker and know how closely all 3 topics are when making quests. It will not be possible to be on topic in any of these forums currently.

Quest mods being a little of everything you see.

I am sure there are other examples too of questions that will not fit anywhere.

Depends on what the question is of course...when in doubt, and a question spans multiple areas, of course asking in general forums is, well, acceptable...but keep in mind, the more specific a question is asked, the higher likelihood it is that it'll get answered.

So while you could squish everything into one post (question about how to create an NPC, how to give them a conversation tree, and then how to make scripts for the conversation tree all in one question) that means you need someone to take the time to explain all 3 concepts in one post. If however, you post an NPC question in the level/area forum (how do I create NPCs and give them a conversation), and then another question in the scripting forum (I have a quest that I need to be able to track xyz and then give these items to the character and do it from a conversation) the answers for those two questions are smaller, and so much easier for someone to jot off an answer relatively quickly comparatively speaking (multiple the complexity of the request).

There's always room for crossover...it's not that the subforums are going to eliminate that, there's just no way for them to...but reducing it is the goal.

For questions that really DON'T fit anywhere, well, that's why (presumably) we'll always have a general forum as well.

Oh, and as for the spoilers in the regular channels...yeah, we move as quick as we can, but folks post faster than we can read basically. :D We're trying...

Thanks for the reply Astorax.

Nice to know its okay to post such questions here, I can think of several scenarios where 1 question would cover multiple areas and the chances are I'll be one of those effected. So its good to get this out of the way early :)
