GPR was useful for Adepts since it cut through shields like butter.

Like I said:

It was a gimmick weapon for most Shepards (except, I suppose, Adepts) and useless in any of your squadmates' hands except Zaeed's (and he was still better off using the Incisor).

The recoil clearly is still an issue, since the tempest loses so much accuracy when you fire it full auto.

That my friends, was a drop-dead argument. Wulfram, I tip my hat to you for making a complex argument that easy to understand in its entirety.

This has never bothered me at all and he is immune to recoil and he is beyond holding a weapon correctly, there are more imporant things in the galaxy than using a weapon they it should be used.

As a Lefty, I want to know where 90% of shooters get their left-handed weapons.

In real life, shooting left handed weapons costs you hundreds of dollars extra, and exposes you to poorly manufactured attachments/conversion kits.

If only they didn't have that lousy Shuriken.

Then they could have made Shepard hold all the SMGs with two hands.

It's even a bit of an insult when some characters actually are holding weapons like the Tempest with two hands.

I assume you're saying "lousy" in a "darn it's screwing up the animations" sense instead of "lousy" in a gameplay sense? Because the Shuriken is objectively awesome in a gameplay sense.

My M&P has a reversible magazine release and ambidextrous grips, so, fairly inexpensive lefty-friendly guns exist.

@OP: I think Shep should keep the current stance in his "free" fire mode and switch to two hands when you "zoom" (left trigger) in what I imagine would be Shep looking down the sights.

It's a bit of both, in my opinion.

Seems like a lot of effort to make custom holding animations for every grip configuration for every gun

I don't think Stag charges any extra for their lefty AR-15s and they have a good reputation.

I would hope so, but I'm gonna go with no. Something about saving disc space by having interchangeable animations or whatever.

Not necessarily. I'd be okay with the Locust and Tempest being held like the Avenger or Mattock.

I'm just not a fan of firing them like this:

I hope all the guns can have grips attached to them, and the crew and shep hold them properly. It's an aesthetic thing for me, as well as function i guess.

^ +1000  Weird weird azz grip those guys used for SMGs. Especially considering N7 is supposed to be roughly equivalent to Green Beret / US Army Ranger / MARSOC... (N7 is the 'highest level of proficiency', but then you still have Corsairs, STC, SPECTREs etc., that are clearly higher still).

The GPR wasn't that good vs shields. It couldn't hold a candle to the Mattock, lol. Posted Image

Additionally, is the slow walk going to look like walking or a slight limp? The normal jog looks fine in ME2, cute even, but the manual walk-slow makes Shepard look totally unbalanced (physically). And yes, I consider Shepard to be of sound mental health, with or without stress easement.

The Claymore and Widow were redesigned so a human could fire it.
Shepard has no super strengh, recoil still affects him and holding a gun wrong will make it worse.
Case closed, LAWYERED!

yea just like troops in the military have a lot more to worry about than how to properly use your weapon

No no no,

If you look at the weapons in most shooting games, you'll notice the ejector and safely on the left side of the gun that is oriented on the right side of the screen. AKA ejecting the burning hot casing across your field of vision because almost all shooters have the rifle on the right side of the screen (also ignoring that a trained soldier will switch hands to gain a safer field of fire behind cover).

TL;DR, the vast majority of shooting games have their Player Character shooting the wrong type of weapon in conjunction with their ocular dominance. And this from someone who has some neat burn scars on their right arm due to lazy government standard issue equipment.

It bothers me a lot to be honest. They shouldn't have made the Shuriken SMG without a grip.

Ah well, as long as Shepard uses pistol in all the cutscenes, instead of switching it around even in middle of cutscenes.

I want Halo style dual SMGs or SMG and light pistol
