Cant start Thane's loyalty mission

When I go to speak to the C-Sec guy the option does not come up for me to ask about Thane's son, any ideas?

That question doesn't show any earmarks of being a Tech-type item. I would think that you need to visit a Cheats-Hints forum instead, as soon as you finish your local profile update (you must register the game in the profile).

1) Just to double-check, you must bring thane along as it doesn't require you to bring him to land on the citadel you have to do so manually.
2) You are asked to talk to an individual outside DarkStar lounge, located on the Citadel; do so to progress the story...
3) When you talk to the C-sec gentlemen at the desk, select the bottom right option, they will haul a guy in and the story will continue.

Oh ok thanks, I'll try that now. Sorry I know this isnt really a Tech thing but I thought it might be a glitch or something.
