Most Aliens in game are just of wary of humans. All are competing for resources. Which shep steals from planets colonised by other species on Tim's behalf in ME2 using probes and stealth.D3MON-SOVER3IGN wrote...

Well because Liara and Garrus were my Shepard's bff and Wrex was super cool, I was not happy with Ashley's attitude towards them, she only survived one playthrough with me. Interesting character but caused too much of an atmosphere.
This, people are just regurgitating the same stuff.

The Normandy has a top secret stealth system developed by humans which gives humanity an edge over other species. This alone is justification enough for Ashleys concerns. Everyone is competing for habital planets and resources. Ashley understands that evolution is not only about species improving but also competition and a fight against extinction. In ME2 Shepard steals resources that belong to other species on Cerberus behalf.

It's not rascim it is an acknowledgement of rivalry.

Well, I assure you if you continue to get in my way, you will walk all the to Perth. It'll be like something out of the Mad Max trilogy.

I wonder if she'll changed for better or worse
I won't be surprised if the entire "alien-issue" of Ashley is no more in ME3 tbh.
It was never a real issue - at least not on an extent some people claim it was - and it won't return.
The Virmire decision was a hard one - and one I can't explain in a rational way. I picked Ash over Kaidan because of m!Shepard's emotional attachment (= LI), however, a good commanding officer might decide for Kaidan here.PrimalEden wrote...
I like Ashley for her hilarious sense
of humor and her ability to feel compassion even for aliens that she
held in suspicion before. She's a complex character with flaws and
virtues that make her believable. And like a lot of believable
personalities, there are moments when she'll tick me off, but in the
end, I'd rather have her and Kaiden around instead of Virmiring
them.
Think Ashley is one of the "perfect" characters in a writer's way. She comes with flaws making her more authentic. And the -best- compliment you can make is to tell a writer "your characters are authentic".

You would too if they would appear here from out of nowhere and if they had a history of conquering people(turians). Trust has to be earned.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They mentioned her xenophobia in ME2 as well ("I'm no fan of aliens").

distrusting aliens because they are aliens is *racism*. if shep invited another human on board (non-alliance) and she showed the same distrust that would nullify the "she is racist" camp. too bad we don't have the comparison.

But I like the others as well.
Ashley brought a sense of realism to the game. After all if humans were to suddenly discover a plethora
I know there were a few others in the game who were a bit wary when it came to aliens but it was only a small comment or two here and there. Whereas Ashley was a main character with that way of thinking.

She isn't politically correct, she doesn't have experience with aliens and she is a cynical about the idea of the Council always looking out for humanities best interest, but I don't think that's racism.
In fact, I think she is right about that last part. Members of their own species will always be more important to them than humanity. Which is why, according to her, humanity needs to be more independent, and again, I'm inclined to agree.
This is by no means an apology for Ash, but merely my interpretation of her words.
Even so, I like her a lot. She always felt real to me, more than any other character. She had flaws, opinions, some unlikely interests, beliefs... Her stories about her family made them sound very real to me. In those few sentences I had a feeling like I actually know those characters and understand their personalities, even though I have never actually seen them.
Hotheaded, stubborn, cynical, impetuous, tough, passionate, funny, feminine, down to earth, Ash is all of those things and more, and it works. Making her one of the best Mass Effect characters in my eyes.

Considering that the governments in Mass Effect are based on species instead of location or ideas or <reason of choice>, what other choice do you have? The Turian Hierarchy attacked the Alliance not even 30 years ago as First Contact. Distrusting the Turian Hierarchy means distrusting Turians in general (unless you're in the Terminus Systems, and that's another political entity of its own).
And, given that the Normandy is, or was, one of a kind, Tali (as a Quarian) shouldn't have been taken along, much less put in the engine room. Yes, she's useful, but you can't trust her to keep the Alliance's secrets.

Nah. That's prejudice or generalization. Personally, I always felt like you need some real venom and hate in you to be considered racist. Otherwise, you're just ignorant or prone to generalizations and judging the book by its cover.
