Ashley is probably my favorite human character and I don't think she's racist. She's a realist who rightfully believes that humanity should be a bit catious when it comes to dealing with alien races. She rightfully has concerns over information security when a bunch of people who Shepard has only known for a short time show up on a highly advanced stealth frigate.

The people who call her racist are the thin-skinned unstable types who look for excuses to shout "racism/sexism/whatever" at the first opprotunity. There was no asian student in the phamplet for that tech-school? Clearly racism!!!

Besides that, a bit fanservice for Ash could help.

And she's no racist, OP. Cautious, reserved, not trusting others right from the start - check. Racist? Nope.
Even if she WERE a racist, I wouldn't love her because of it. I love Ashley as a character and a person because she's far more than "racist".

On topic: Ashley isn't racist. She's cautious and protective of the home team, which is understandable and quite honorable, really.

Maybe it would have been better if AK had shot Wrex in that scenario that is widely known but that of course nobody would ever allow to transpire? It'd give Alenko more ammo against the accusations of boring and Carth-ieness, and Ashley wouldn't have the coldblooded killing of an alien squadmate to be used against her. To be frank.

I agree OP. I like that she's racist. It makes me feel superior about my own open-mindedness and cosmopolitanism.

100% seriously speaking though, it's an important element that makes her a unique and realistic character.

It's even funnier because I'm sure there are people that actually do think this way.
