EA probably didn't give them permission.

This. Marketing team likely has some sort of final say. It's totally silly, because it will make no difference to anyone. But that's how things work, unfortunately.

BioWare might as well just clam up and not tell us anything until it's actually go time. That would stop half the complainers, anyway.

Considering that most people here have the mind of a hyperactive, indecisive and overrly reactive 14 year old girls I don't think ANY complainers are going to be stopped.

Meh, I can wait a month. If I can wait almost two for the game, why does it matter when the demo comes out?

They could do that.  All we'd have to do is wait until the next "leak" to find out more anyways.

How do you figure? Bioware promised us early access to the multiplayer portion if we purchase bf3. Many of us did. A lot of us were on the fence about buying bf3 but did so because of the early access. 3 weeks before the game isn't early access. We were also promised a demo in January. To those of you who want to bring up the card wording, if they were going to announce it in January in the first place, why say that they will announce it in November, then December, then January, when January was already on the card? And why did Jessica Merizan say it will launch January?

If this is the kind of treatment we can expect from the new bioware, then that's it. We've been waiting since November for an answer and we still haven't heard anything directly from bioware. Really nice way to treat your customers, especially those who bought a 50 pass for early access.

So I guess the early access demo for those who bought BF3 will be out February 13th right?

Who buys a game for full sticker price to play a 30-45 minute demo.

Come on people. The stupidity in that decision is just astounding.

That demo listed in the Kinect video doesn't look like it's advertising early access. It looks like it's for the full demo release. So the early access could be any time between now and then.

I don't understand it either. I can understand for a MP beta that lasts weeks but just a demo? Not something I'd do even if it was my favorite series.

Is this BioWare's way of saying they love us? :D

And yet so many forumites respond with seething hatred. Truly a parent/adolescent relationship going on over here. I may write a paper on BSN.

Im thinking the same thing. Type a report on how the BSN exploded with puzzeled members, enraged members and demanding members. lol

The demo (and the early access) include multiplayer, which people assumed was going to last from Jan - March,
so according to your statement, you agree with buying BF3.

People are raging at bioware but they really should be at EA if anyone at all. I know for a fact that gearbox couldn't release a demo date because  2K wouldn't give them the say so.

Makes sense...they did the same thing with dragon age 2. Put out the demo about a month before the game came out.

Let me rephrase that. Competitive MP. Not coop that I hear is slow and boring anyway. I'm talking like Gears of war 3 with bulletstorm kind of beta. It's not that I don't agree with buying it. It's that I find it silly to buy a $60 game for access to a coop portion of a demo. I mean most people seem to hate that coops in ME in the first place. I love battlefield so I bought it anyway. I wouldn't of bought it just for a coop demo though.

It was early access to the multiplayer beta, not the single player first of all. Second of all, what I do with my money is my concern, not yours. I didn't just buy bf3 for the demo, but having it in there gave me tremendous incentive to do so since I was burned out of shooters. Regardless, we were guaranteed early access to the multiplayer portion in January, that's not going to happen apparently. Naturally I and others who were expecting them to come through on their word are more than  disappointed.

First they want to compete with CoD

I'm assuming this is sarcasm.

I realize that it may be different with ME, but sometime before DA2 was released, Mike Laidlaw had said something about drawing in the CoD crowd...so, sadly, not really sarcasm....

Like others have said, I think aggression should go to EA, not Bioware. Before they were bought they showed dedication to their deadlines and playerbase. However, since EA took over things have been much messier.

I miss the days before video games were included in corporate empires.

Everybody needs to relax... I'm sure a pre-release demo will come out this month... Feb 14th is probably the release date for everyone, but most likely ME3 demo will come out next week. Relax and stop tripping.

@Jreezy - the DA team said they wanted the COD crowd. It's true. I'm on an iPad so I'm not going through the trouble to link it, but a google search will find it for you.

@Ecmoose - EA isn't always to blame. Can't believe I just said that. If bioware wants to keep their fan base loyal and secure, they need to stop their sloppy marketing and false promises. Don't make a promise if you know you can't keep it. We went from announcing the date in late November, to early December, to late December, to after the break in January, and now were finding out that it's not even coming out in January as they said it was. They've had very little communication with the consumers who have been inquiring about this demo since it was announced with bf3. Bioware is to blame here.

As much as i am saddened by this news, i shall wait till the morning to hear the official news from bioware, you never know in video games, though as many have said we have been waiting since november - its likeley that EA has a hand in this whole demo fiasco, afterall why the early access if you purchase BF3. If this experience wasnt so saddening, i would have to aplaud EA's business practices, atleast in an economical sense.

And no its not just a demo to some people, people like me for example who are waiting on the sidelines before preordering, to see how it runs on there rig, or people who just want a taste before 3 releases.

So you don't want to the demo as polished as possible?
