How do you folks think my 3 year old laptop will handle this game, I'm asking because I'm worried, if I could run this at decent framerate on lappy with:
9650m GT 1 GB
T5800 2 Ghz C2D cpu
4 GB RAM
Win 7 64-bit
I think is ok for ME3, if the beta goes well, the final game for sure will go better.

nVidia 250GTS 1GB x2 SLI
8GB system Ram
Win7 64bit.

What's the recommended version of DirectX? I'm guessing DirectX 10 because of the recommended graphics card, but there's no mention of it.

Probably DirectX9. While I hope that ME3 will support the newer version of DirectX (they are more efficient than DirectX 9), Bioware may be constrained by their desire to maintain save importation.
Edit: See the first post, it states that the demo requires DirectX 9.

@ the demo, it's nice to know about it, I've no intention of doing Single player UNLESS we get bonuses, if we dont get any DLC I'll taboo it for myself, Multiplayer only for this Mass Effect nut

that is 3 years old? that seems to be an intense computer for a laptop. I would think you can run on the lowest settings just fine, and work up. the requirements are enough that I am thinking I might have to turn the settings from max to just below max with how big they say the battlefields should be. which is fine by me to have huge fields, if my computer isn't powerful enough it means maybe I should build one from scratch. I have a tower that I set up for engineering work, which works really well as a gaming computer ^.^ I got it at least 5 years ago, modified it from it's original
2.2 GHz quad core
8 GB RAM
1 GB video graphics (GeForce GTS 250)
I think I will be able to handle it ^.^

ok, you beat me. I only have one GTS250, and a 2.2 quad processor. next one I am going to build from scratch will really kick butt, 3 graphics card slots, a 3.6 GHz quad processor, or better ^.^

same feeling, although really upset at the fact that they made it seem, think they even said in september, that they would have it OUT in january, not tell us when in january. I would be fine getting it earlier, being told changes are going to happen, and when they do getting a software update. just let us have a taste of ME3

Waiting is pain.
But imagine all those sleep-less nights, by playing Mass Effect 3 and the morning pain due to lack of sleep; )

And I have fallen behind on this thread a little so I don't know if these have been or can be answered but I have two questions. First ; I have never downloaded/played Demos ever but since ME has just renewed my love for all things in life I WILL NOT MISS THAT DEMO XD So I wonder ; how does that work? You just log onto X-Box Live, search for the ME3 Demo and all shall be swell? And does it cost MPoints or is it free? Because I have to buy points ASAP then haha
And another Fangirly/Obsessy question ; If the Virmire survivor shows up in the demo, do we at least get to chose which of them we had survived? I kind of hope so ; since Bioware always makes it a point that ' there is NO Canon ' so anyone? Or d'you think it's better to keep it a surprise?
Okay I'm rambling ehhhh. I'll go back to counting the days now.

Yes (get on Xbox Live and search for it, though I'm sure it will be front in center the day it comes out)
Yes (it doesn't cost you to download the demo)
