=( my graphics card is a Gforce 8500 GT and now I've had the unpleasant surprise when I checked ME3's system requirements on the Mass Effect wikia, that my graphics card is below the min system's requirements.

T_T why is that? does that means I wont be able to play ME3? cuz I'm in no condition to buy a new one for a LONG LONG TIME (at least 6 to 10 months)

The 8000 series is very old. You can't expect games being released now to run properly using cards that old.

But I'm not sure what system requirements you're looking at. According to this link, an Nvidia 7900 would run the game.

this is exactly what doesn't make sense to me.

If a 7900 can run it, how come a 8500 (superior card) can't? Furthermore, they specifically said that if your machine could handle ME2, it "should" handle ME3.

well, my busted up 8500 handled ME2 at near max settings (only kept the resolution low, almost everything else at max) just fine, so how come it can't handle ME3 when its system requirements weren't supossed to be that high?

I'm only going to play the multiplayer part of the demo, I want to keep the campaign fresh for when I get the game.

The 8500 is not a superior card. The 7900 is the extreme gaming version from the previous series of graphics cards (7 series), but its statistics outperform the "value" version from the next series, the 8500.

http://www.nvidia.co...force_7900.html
http://www.nvidia.co...force_8500.html

As you can see, the 7900 outperforms on several key points, even though the 8500 has some new technology.

You can always try ME3 with your card and hope for the best, the minimum specifcation graphics card for ME2 was as follows:

Video Card = 256 MB (with
Pixel Shader 3.0 support). Supported Chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or
greater; ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater. Please note that
NVIDIA GeForce 7300, 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400, and 9300; ATI Radeon
HD3200, and HD4350 are below minimum system requirements.

As you can see, the minimum specs for ME2 had that card only just being good enough. If you could run it on high settings, then it could well surprise you yet again.

My suggestion would be to give it a go with the demo and then see if you can pick up a second-hand or OEM version of one of the mid-range graphics cards if it fails to play correctly, before the release in March. The 9600GT is both affordable and can still play most games, albeit it not on full graphics. If you want to move up a little, I hear the 200 series is quite good.

quick question just wondered if anybody could help me out.

i have a completed save file from ME2 (which was subsequently brough over from mass effect 1) which i intended to use to begin my game on ME3, however....

i have recently moved from the UK to canada, and wanted to know if my save file from the PAL version of ME2, will be compatible with an NTSC version of ME3.  If not is there anyway to make it into an NTSC save file (assuming there is even a difference in the first place).

any light that can be shed on the matter would be much appreciated.

My Mass Effect 1 is NTSC and my Mass Effect 2 is PAL, I can use my ME1 save file with ME2 no problem.

that does makes sense.

=( Sadly I don't live in the US, I live in Venezuela, and over here, computer hardware is quite expensive, so yeah buying a new card is simply out of my reach till I get my vacation bonus on august.

That being said, my graphic card was able to run skyrim at min, and the graphics of ME3 don't look that superior.

I am surprised though at the mileage I've been able to squeeze out of my graphic card, since like I said, I was able to run ME1 and 2 at near max settings (with only resolution being kept low). Lets hope it can hold on just enough to help me play ME3

/cross-fingers

you can't get it early.

Everyone will get it this 14th, and the multiplayer section of the demo on the 17th.

Those who got Battlefield 3, will get early access to the MULTIPLAYER section of the demo, but that early access is still AFTER the 14th.

that is all.

Cant tell if you were being sarcastic or not but now that you mention it it is kind of a rip off for those pre ordering the C.E isnt it?

But thats not what bothers me, (personally I think it'd be cool if the prop was just made available to everyone) what bothers me is how many DLC promotions there are, EA went WAY overboard this time. Just goes to show how much content *could have* been included with the actual game, instead whoever spends the most money or dedicates all their time on facebook gets the full experience.  t(-_-t)

Can Mass Effect 3 co-op multiplayer be played split-screen?

No – the co-op multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 is online only.[/list]

How about playing it solo Chris? I understand there will be no bots like you said but if one just wanted to play alone do we really need an internet connection to do so?

Or, for that matter, LAN games? On both consoles and computers.

@Chris Priestly. Won't this be weird for the armor and daggers DLC for KOA? The game comes out before the the demo drops. The Armor and Daggers will be pointless. Might have better stuff by then.

I think that the ME3 demo was originally supposed to come out at the end of January. That's what it said on IGN.

I wonder why Bioware moved the demo into mid-february.

Explanation Bioware?

the single player portion of the demo is playable by everyone on the 14th itst just the mutiplayer which needs early acess i'd assume the demo would come under the free games section of orgin as demo don't tend to cost anything
